My understanding was that this game is on Amazon Prime which is why kick off is 7:30. Plus Gilbert looked in serious bother yesterday. He posted a pic of himself with massive swelling in the side of his face. I'd be incredibly shocked if he was even on the bench tonight.

We have a full strength squad available except for Jota. Smith said we've 3 games in a week so the squad will be tested. For the cup I'd go with Steer Elmo Konsa Hause/Chester Taylor Trez Lansbury Luiz O'Hare Kodjia Davis That looks balanced enough for me but I'm no Dean Smith.

Agree that our second string are better than theirs. There's no way we'll play the first team or anything close to it so soon after a difficult game against Arsenal imo. It'll be a difficult one but Smith said himself he's taking the competition seriously so we won't be going to make up the numbers.

3 points before going into the international break would be huge here. Won't be an easy game but far from impossible. It'd be a great psychological boost for the players and fans. I won't enjoy having to look at Ayew's miserable head faffing around the pitch.
