Forest v Wham

We've got such strength in depth in central midfield that it seems pointless trying to name which pairing should be played. What we need, and I think it's what we've got, is players who give everything for as long as possible.
The DCM role must take a particularly heavy toll on players so it's so good to have Sangare, Yates Dominguez, Danilo and Kouyate in the mix. Also when any of the starters picks up a yellow it lessens their effectiveness so it's good to be able to change things without weakening the team.

I think having a new keeper who is at least semi competent may have something to do with things as well.

Matt Sells Seashells oozes quiet confidence and, whilst maybe not a world beater, does what he needs to with little fuss. This give confidence to the center backs so they now believe that they don't have to be ready to bail the keeper out. Because of this our center mids can concentrate on doing their job of winning the ball back and moving it forward, without having to consider the need to drop back to cover for a center back who's had to drop back to cover the keeper.

All of a sudden we are playing slightly higher up the pitch, keeping shape and looking like we actually belong in the EPL.

I think we should (injuries not withstanding) keep things as they are for now and Sangare will have to win a starting place back from bench.

For all that WHAM are struggling at the moment, they are 8th in the league and won a European trophy last season. We beat them relatively comfortably and it's as good a barometer of what we are capable of as anything we've seen so far this season.

I would point out that Freuler is doing really well back in Italy and may have been more useful under Nuno but…

Dominguez is a massive upgrade for what we need. The speed with which he can swap pssses with players and the accuracy and range of his passing is superb. Then there’s his work rate. He seems to be everywhere. Definitely one of the best that I have seen.
One doesn’t need to slow down much to be caught out in premiership. Casemiro was lucky not to see red yesterday as he was just a bit slow to the ball. From top midfielder to has been in six months. Age and injuries.

Agree and is why I am more calm than nervous right now.

Was so lucky it looked like another stitch up

VARin spotlight again. Williams clear, pen. Not obvious?

Holgate initially given as a yellow, VAR upgrades to red. Correctly. But how was VAR allowed to intervene on an upgrade but not allowed to intervene in Boly case? Makes no sense. Am in favour of VAR but consistency and rule changes are required. All premiership clubs have VAR and all have big screens, put it on big screen and let’s hear the discussion between ref, assistants and VAR. At least we may understand why some decisions are being made.

Crazy when clubs pay for an expert referee to tell them how rules are interpreted.
Them's the rules, which do suck. Oh, and it's Premier League, not Premiership, FFS.

Freuler is a player well suited to Serie A, where he probably gets about 30% more time to think, than the Premier League.

You can be a conductor in Serie A, the Premier League needs a proper headbanger like Dominguez

Under Nuno an aging Moutinho became one of their signings of the season. He wasn’t quick on the ball but had the right players around him and was phenomenal.

Freuler was a massive disappointment because he was so highly rated both in Italy and on the international stage. I wouldn’t swap back but I do sometimes wonder if he would have fit in a different set up.

I fucking love it when we disjoint the nose of that dim-witted champagne socialist.
I'm on the fence for this and i am a little baffled as to why we have employed a former ref to tell us the bleeding obvious! We aren't going to get points back and just makes us look a little desperate.

Adds weight to any future discussions if you have sought high level professional opinion on incidents, and removes the feeling it's just a "woe is me" complaint if said professional opinion supports the complaint.

Give me dominquez over mangala any day.

Also.. was nice to see the reception Antonio got. He deserved it. He was brilliant for us.

To think looking back some posters on here said Cohen was better lol.

He was the player that came closest to collymore imo.

Albeit in the championship but he tore it a new asshole. We would have been promoted ten years earlier if he had decided to stay for another year.

Being fair there have been times when he tore the Premier League a new arse but he has been blighted by injury and this probably stopped him from showing his true worth.

His stats show him as a 1 in 4 goalscorer but there were seasons when he got 1 in 3 and he probably would have improved on that if he had managed a full season.
