If you have data to prove that it would be great to see it - serious question as it's not a chart I've seen fm Whitty recently and those dying "of" covid not "with" it would be even more interesting 🤔

I've seen those comparisons (from "proper" sources, not twitter bile, as hindley would have folk believe) but can't remember where from.

If I find them, I'll post them.

Point taken re "of" rather than "with".

I don't know if it's a like for like read or not. As I said, I'd imagine that the WHO only publish stuff that measured apples and apples ........ and as these numbers match the WHO's they probably don't include the discrepancies you mention.

That sounds really unfair. When we get a new shiny socialist government which is inevitable then these numbers will be equal. Maybe they will charge the better off for any future vaccine to lower the numbers of free loading better off folk receiving free vaccines down.

They also show the data table ....... so I downloaded it, hid a few columns etc, and came up with this easy comparison just for major EU countries.

Germany have more vaccinations than us (understandable given their population).

As I say, we're doing well, but not the leader in anything.

I am not sure what date this info is from but it is clearly out of date.

The updated info is available on the site that I suggested which was dated 21/12/ 21. The recent increase in our vaccinations has dramatically changed the table.

I have just checked the info against the source I had seen and you are correct that Germany have administered more doses, but they are still the only European country to have done so. So for BJ to say that we are the the country with the most jabs given is wrong, but only just.

Given the acceleration in our programme I would expect us to overtake Germany sooner rather than later given that they have recently admitted that they are short of vaccine. Apparently they are some 25 million doses short and their health minister has admitted that they got it wrong by sending doses to other countries and are now desperately trying to buy them back.
 
It's from the WHO TB. Surely that's the pre-eminent source for all Covid data. The WHO site appears to be updated daily ....... presumably, when I posted the link, it still showed data as at 20th, but it now shows it for 21st ...... at the time the PM made his claims, I guess it's possible the numbers fluctuated the other way, but I doubt it. Let's face it, he's not great with facts and figures.

Our current vax rate is undoubtedly excellent ......... but the PM's like a little schoolboy, bragging about how well he's doing, rather than simply presenting the facts that we're doing well, even if we're not the best.

I am not sure that the WHO site would necessarily be the most up to date data site as I am sure that they would have other matters more pressing than gathering figures but I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that.

As far as the bragging comments go, I would say that they were aimed at praising those involved in running the vaccine programme, the NHS for instance, and not necessarily at himself. But again given your obvious political affiliations and dislike of the man himself we will no doubt have to agree to disagree once again.

Take this whatever way you like & I totally get it's freedom of choice for people to have vaccine, believe covid is a conspiracy or believe in the antivaxers theories & statements but this also has consequences...I'll give you a first hand account here - a person we know, early forties & unvaccinated as they said it was their right / choice was taken into hospital 3 weeks ago with covid (had NO underlying health issues) , sadly the other day they passed away leaving 3 children without a parent & 1 grandchild without a grandparent not to mention a grieving mum & dad....so so sad when it perhaps could have been avoided. 3 friends of this person have reconsidered not having a vaccination & now booked to get one. IMO the people refusing jabs etc are steadfast in their beliefs & rights to choice ultimately change their tune once someone close to them suffers / dies from covid, too little too late in some circumstances. But hey that's why we fought for democracy eh....

So ........ when we take out all the unvaxed dickheads from the figures of all countries, that will mean that all countries will have a population (within the specified criteria) who are 100% vaccinated. :hmmm:

I got what you meant ........ but surely, it'd only be fair to take out the dickheads from other countries too ........ so they'd all be top of the league. No?
 
On a side note, my daughter went for her covid booster at Robin Park Arena and Liam Richardson was having his at the same time.
