What's more staggering is the levels of ignorance Dermot Gallagher on Sky Ref-Watch has to go through to agree with the on-field decision. "He's not in control of the ball", Dermo who the fuck is going to get to that ball? McGinn. He's the closest man to the ball and already in full flight.

It's blatant, no one is saying you're doing it on purpose but there is most definitely an unconscious bias to let those ***** have everything. To be clear at the top of the penalty award chart and clear of the team in second by 9 awards is insane. Especially when you consider United has been woefully off course in terms of challenging for the title in that space of time. You'd expect one of the two most dominant teams in that period (Pool/City) to be 1st.
That one would have been more than harsh if it was a red card though, to send a player off for a pull back on the half way line. A lot can happen over 50 yards especially as the ball wasn't central. That said the ref didn't even give a foul at all when it should have been a free kick and a clear yellow (or possibly worse). Maybe he didn't want to risk VAR getting involved as they have even less common sense than the on-field refs.

Yet surprisingly Gallagher got the Ollie offside absolutely spot on.
He's far better than the absolutely terrible one they have on BT, Peter Walton I think his name is. Absolutely awful that guy is - offers no insight whatsoever and barely understands the rules any more than any decent pundit.

Gallagher is a die hard Man U fan - met him once on a train he has Man U tattoos on his arms, surprised he was even allowed to ref at all but he's OK on the TV, although he seemed to be saying it was a legit goal through gritted teeth

Pity Bissouma is out I wanted to see if Brighton had actually figured out how to win points or if this is just a little purple patch. Potter is a good coach but he's kind of only improved them by going barely anywhere in terms of results.

Anyway he's another who while really good doesnt seem better than Smith inspite of the hype.

A lesson in patience, although really we need another 4 games to see where things are trending.

It also seems like a handful of teams have gotten significantly worse. The bottom 6 is almost comical 5 of the 6 haven’t won a game yet and the way some are playing its hard to see it changing.
