Having worked on the prototypes for the last 9 years I know why as well mate, Quantity over quality basically. Like a lot of companies, the top brass has the wool pulled over its eyes by the ranks below to meet unrealistic deadlines set by the top brass.
I, however, expect it to be similar at most companies. They all preach quality but just try putting the stop button in a production line and see what happens to you

Just a warning for those thinking of buying a BMW. Make sure the indicators work as I see plenty around that seem to have some kind of fault with them.

They moved production of the saloon to Mexico earlier this year and only build the touring in Germany now.

Have no fear, my car for March is being built in Germany. Hope that helps mate.

They did a good discount to get the order in before Xmas shut down, not sure why, thought they meant in Germany.
