What was the last film you watched

Split.

Very good. Recommend this one.

James Mcevoy plays a man with 23 distinct personalities who kidnaps 3 girls. Gripping film with a very weird twist/cameo at the end.

Silence

Scorcese film with Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield about priests in the 17th century spreading Christianity in Japan or something. Almost 3 hours, bored the bollocks off me.

Wish I had watched Baywatch instead!

Is it shite or just too artsy?

Yesterday, I went to see DUNKIRK with one of our sons and one of his sons. It's a great film, very intense, quite shocking and extremely moving.
As an aside, it reminded me of the way that the British (and by this I mean mostly the English) tend to be able to somehow win out. You have to wonder how the Germans contrived to lose the war. And yet they did. Perhaps there is a positive here for Brexit? Right now, it looks as though the UK government hasn't a clue (to be charitable) but maybe it'll all work out positively.

Too be honest neither. It is well shot and well done as you'd expect from Scorcese and got very good reviews, but personally I just didn't care about any of it. Movies about characters struggling with challenges to their faith etc. don't interest me at all.

Had it been an hour shorter it would have been alright I suppose, but I thought it was never going to end.

Agreed. Well worth watching if you're thinking about it.

The Depaaaated (The Departed) - this is at least the third time I've watched it. It's a great story but it feels very rushed. It's 2.5 hours long and they had to cut out all of the transitions and jump straight from one scene to the next often straight out of one conversation and into the next.

Can never understand how anyone can watch a film more than once! My attention span isn't good enough to be interested once I've seen it. With a few exceptions.

I've watched soooo many films multiple times.

Films I've watched more than 10 times include....

Rocky
Rocky II
Rocky IV
Back To The Future
Back To The Future 2
Back To The Future 3
Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
Pulp Fiction

I find great comfort in watching an old favorite. If I'm ill and off work, I'll usualy bring the duvet downstairs and watch one of the above.

Also when I'm working from home I like to have the TV on for a bit of background noise. I obviously can't concentrate on a film, so it's good to stick something on I don't really need to think about and I can watch and work at the same time.

I think my memory isn't that good. If it's a great film, I'll watch it more than once but often a few years apart. I forget so much that it's like watching it all over again.

MORGAN

When artificial being "Morgan" (Anya Taylor-Joy) begins behaving unpredictably and attacks one of her handlers, corporate risk consultant Lee (Kate Mara) is called in to decide her future. Senior boffin Dr Ziegler (Toby Jones) is reluctant to terminate the project and is backed by Morgan's minders, including behaviour specialist (Rose Leslie) and "Mother" Michelle Yeoh. However, Lee is concerned they may have grown too close to their subject... and she could be right. Chilling sci-fi thriller directed by Luke 'son of Ridley' Scott.

Predictable and not overly entertaining.

I've watched many films numerous times too!

Terminator 1 & 2, Alien & Aliens, Back to The Future trilogy, Indiana Jones trilogy, Robocop, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs etc. at least 5 times each.

I think sometimes you miss a lot in a film in one viewing, some movies I've found better the second time I watch them. Then of course there's others that I can watch over and over because they're so frickin good although there's usually a few years gap between re-watching them.

The Great Wall.

Thought it was an epic about the old Chinese dynasties and the Great Wall Of China. Turns out if was strange monsters attacking the people living behind the wall. Looked a massive budget film and some of it was well shot, great costumes etc... but the monsters were ridiculous and actually so was the entire film. Very disappointing.

Anabelle the beginning.

Cheap jump horror but a decent ish film.

The noises make me jump not the actual footage.

Back to the Future 3 - I haven't seen it for 30 years. I needed something to watch with the kids and Back to the Future sprang to mind. It's better than I expected.

Infernal Affairs - it's the original Hong Kong version of The Departed. It's much better but you have to read all of the subtitles unless you can speak Cantonese.

Reservoir Dogs - some lads in a warehouse arguing about a botched robbery. I found it a bit boring, to be honest.

It's quite an old film now. I've seen bits of it before but never the whole thing.

A Date For Mad Mary - it's pretty good. I think it scored above 7 on IMDB. It's about a girl who gets out of prison for assault trying to find a date to bring to her friend's wedding.

The Accountant.

It was ok I suppose, kept me interested for a couple of hours. Pretty predictable at the end though.

Why Him?

Bit daft by my sister in law and niece had watched it together and I think they found it amusing because all of a sudden she's old enough to watch inappropriate stuff like that!

Agree on The Accountant deano, not earth shattering but worthy of a watch.
