Even before this game, I would have had a small bet on Smith not being there at the end of the season. I have been critical of his lack of nous in the past and it was obvious after 10 minutes that Targett wasn't match fit. Cruel to sub him that early, but he wouldn't have got past 20 minutes with Bielsa. This is only the first game, but now that Jack has gone, the 'he's a Villa fan' should not be your only qualification for having the job. I'll give him 10 games.
