One of the commentators on the stream I was watching said Bruce has took the team forward and they've progressed. Well that's that then. Says everything about the quality of the overhyped premiership when you can have a non league manager going into games with absolutely no tactics or game plan whatsoever and surviving because you have the likes of sheff utd who are absolutely fucking dreadful.

That sums it up Keggy. When GD is being in the the thoughts of those in charge and close score lines make the difference of staying up or being relegated then we are on a slippery slope. This season may be the one that it fails and like you suggested, would anyone be surprised?

So what if it fails? Apart from 2012, our two most enjoyable seasons in the last thirteen years have been in the Championship.

Nothing's changing under Ashley. Survive, survive, survive. Get relegated, spend a bit, go back up. Survive, survive, survive.

That's it.

City in cruise control, saving themselves for bigger challenges.
Newcastle just running round and offering no threat.
Bruce pleased with a 2-0 defeat and better than against Fulham and Brentford. It could hardly have been worse.
Total lack of ambition and notice we are once again in a relegation battle and thats progress!!?

If the intention was to win it was a failure, if the intention was not to lose it was a failure. If the intention was to not be beaten by lots of goals it was a success.

It's pathetic that that's the aim but is anyone surprised ?

The intention is to avoid relegation at the end of the season

A 2 nil loss at City under Benitez would have been taken as a tactical masterclass by many - a 2 nil loss at City under Bruce is taken as him not being up to the job

Both situations are music to Ashley's ears as yet again the focus for another piss poor season is placed firmly on the wrong bloke

Makes you wonder what some fans expect when attempting to chase managers out - is Kinnear still available??

Everyone knows that Ashliar is the problem but there's nothing new to say that hasn't been said already.

Bruce doesn't help himself, no tactics and nobody seems to have a fucking clue what they are supposed to be doing.

This is mostly the same group that played under Benitez, the football was dire at times but they were well organised and hard to beat. Even Almiron looked like a decent prospect if coached correctly and adapted to the PL.

Joelinton would never have signed as Ashliar was told he wasn't good enough and he's not! Don't know why he decided to spunk £40m on such a lemon, especially when he could've signed both Danny Ings and Charlie Austin for around the same price. That deal is dodgy as fuck!

The difference is under Benitez the tactics would have been well drilled into the players and considerably more effective (we did beat Man City with him as manager in fact) . I also am of the opinion that Benitez went into every game trying to win. Bruce isn't even a defensive manager, his teams cannot defend.

Yes Rafa was defence first but there was a considered plan for every match and there were also attempts at progression and that half season with Rondon up-top with Perez and Almiron buzzing around behind we played some good stuff at times.

Bruce isn't being criticized for the game against City it's the performances against the likes of Fulham and Brentford, games that were there to be won that were thrown away by a complete lack of desire to take the game to the opponents or even a knowledge of how to break them down. Even the West Brom game we were for large swathes of that game comprehensively outplayed.

The heavy defeat against Manchester United they were under huge media pressure had already been proven to be mentally fragile and gifted us an ealry goal and what happens ? The same Bruce tactics of dropping to the 18 yard line, not pressing, delaying making any attempts to win the ball and defending deep. It's like it's the only two lines he's ever bothered to read from the Uefa A coaches handbook. These tactics have been repeated throughout the season whether it's Man City or Brentford B.

This manager has been supported more financially by Ashley than any other manager in his tenure. There are some good players there and they are being ruined by Bruce. If Ashley truly wants to protect his investments and give himself the best chance of selling the club he needs to act sooner rather than later to secure it's future.

Imagine giving Ashley your money then being patronising to people who knew who the problem was back when YOU were contributing to keeping said problem at the club. It's almost as if we're in a parallel universe

I'm more than happy to go into a long winded explanation Raza lad but it wont be anything I havent said before

Before I do though lets redress the balance...

Furnish us with the details of your decision to give up your season ticket - what sacrifices or struggles did you go through in order to make the decision not to go through the St James' Park turnstiles again - how long did It take you to weigh up what was going on under Ashley compared to the utter dross our long suffering fans have endured for decades before - did you're decision to give up your season ticket include facing up to not seeing lads you only ever saw on match days?

A few questions for you there Raza - no doubt you will decline to answer them as usual

For your info - I made the decision to turn my back the season after we qualified for Europe - then and only then was it clear what Ashley's intentions for us were

Benitez drew a massive wage while working on a shoestring budget for three whole years.

The utter **** !

He also played ultra defensive football against lesser teams !

Benitez might of went into every game trying to win, but his team selection suggested he was expecting own goals from the opposition.

It begs the question, what exactly do we expect from Bruce, and why ?
