Ups and Downs

That all sounds a bit socialist. Meddling with "the market". Surely unfettered capitalism is the way to go? Or do your interventionist principles only apply to football?

I'm not getting involved. It will only end in tears and a bollocking from Jules

Very close at the bottom of the Championship, 23rd to 18th have all hit a bit of form and dragged three or four of the midtable pack back into it - only 7 points separating 15th and 23rd.

The current top 3 in L2 are the big spenders of the league, which is no surprise. Crewe and MK have been sniffing around them for a while as well. Gillingham are in the PO's and have only scored 34 in 35!
Incredibly, if Wednesday beat Leeds tonight they will jump from 23rd to 16th!

Not too much change at the bottom of the Championship, it's now 8 points between 15th and 23rd rather than the 7 it was.

Millwall, Stoke and QPR have hit a little bit of form to drag themselves out of it a little but Plymouth, Blackburn and Birmingham are in awful form at the wrong time.

Wednesday still plugging away but Huddersfield can't seem to get going.

In L2, it's hard to see past Stockport with a 4 point cushion and two games in hand on MK. Mansfield not in great form over the last few games but are still well placed. Barrow could tighten is up even further if they win their game in hand.

Crewe are pretty settled for a PO place, Gillingham are in there but others around them have games in hand (they've only scored 39 in 41!).

Watching QPR highlights was interesting to hear the commentator describe Ilias Chair as Chayeer, wonder if someone’s had a word or he just went rogue.

Apparently still able to play while waiting for an appeal against his sentence to be dealt with.
I remember his performance 5 years ago against us when on loan at Stevenage when he scored two late long range goals to earn them a draw. It was Grant Smith's last game as goalie for us too as he was replaced by Matt Gilks.

Rotherham relegated back to League One, their seventh consecutive relegation/promotion. I suspect they might stick around for a bit longer this time now they don't have Paul Warne to get them back up.

Not quite, they finished 19th in the Championship last year.

Going to have to be a big turnaround at Rotherham for them to get straight back up I think, they looked horrendous last night and 23 points this season is particularly poor.

4 points away from home really illustrates how bad they are.

That's Carlisle down.

It's MK vs Mansfield in 10 day time, which is a biggy.

Only 5 points separating 15th to 23rd in the Championship!

Mansfield (aside the mullering of Harrogate) have fallen away lately. Would love to see them fail again, but then again would mean MK going up so torn.
I assume by that set of results they’ll be dancing in the streets of Cleethorpes tonight.

It's really quite annoying not knowing what division we are going to be in next season yet to decide if I want Birmingham to be relegated or not. It would be an away game I could catch the bus to!!

And you wouldn't get the toe-rags offering to watch your car for you for £2 if you parked on the street.
