The Summer Transfer Thread 2022

Tammy is yesterday’s news - we won’t be going back for him. There are lots of prospects out there that would deliver a similar output. He was great for us in the EFL but he’s not the man to take us into Europe. Trust the recruitment team and NSWE.

Such as?

There's a big lad on loan at Forest who seems to fit the bill.... just needs a run of games... :grinning:

Well by the looks, Tammy is old news , only did it for us because it was in the championship and is playing in a crap Italian league.

I expect to some Keinan will still be a better option despite literally every meaningful thing being to the contrary.

I just don't think Tammy is right for the role as lone striker in our system, unless he's changed his game a lot in two years. But can I name someone who is? Nope.

Archer's a very exciting prospect but that's all he is at this stage and not something we can hang out hats on.

Could we clone Didier Drogba?

We missed the boat, a monumental blunder instead we signed Ings and Bailey , We could of got TA and £25m change. Said before questions of Lange need asking.

No they don’t.
Tammy wouldn’t fit into our system, especially as a lone striker. He’s alive in the 6 yard box but nothing special outside it.

Yes we could have bought better but hindsight is a great thing. And I get the impression that whoever we bought, you’d still be moaning about them.

Abraham has massively improved his hold up play and he has received a lot of positive reviews for this alone at Roma. He has developed this part of his game since he was last with us.

Although he's not well regarded on here DCL would be a decent fit for us IMO.

Loads on here were screaming to sign ‘a proper centre forward’ (Danny Ings) when we signed Watkins. We signed him the following season and now he’s a ‘waste of money’ and we should have signed Tammy. There’s no way of telling if Tammy would have been a success in this team, this season, only opinion. It’s too easy to suggest who we should have signed, just read the shite opinions on News Now. We’re moving in the right direction, albeit slowly and we just have to trust the process and those who can influence who we buy. As supporters, our major role is to get behind the team, take joy from any success and speculate (realistically) who we might buy in the next transfer window.

TA made more sense than Ings from the moneyball approach we have adopted. Business wise Ings was bad value and he hasn't exactly pulled up many trees
