The squad as it stands.......

Erm, it's never rang out as Karanka has only been our manager since January

PSEUD

Is that AC im not quoting? I can't see a thing he writes because I have him placed firmly on ignore.

No doubt he's pipping on about his 2 incher, bragging about how he punished me that ONE time with it. Once for God sake, and he never lets it drop.

Well if someone can PM him and let him know that I HAVE backed up my PMs and sent them over to Sgt Whack at the SCU and they will be paying him a visit shortly.

There will never be a level playing field, but whatever you say FFP is a small step towards it. It penalises the rich owners and makes it harder for them to out invest the other clubs. The ridiculous situation is the parachute payments then unlevel it all again. Rich owners should at least be able to match the spending of parachute clubs. I agree the main aim of FFP is to stop clubs going bust though. When did the last club go into administration?

I am all in favour of FFP; it promotes prudent spending and goes a long way towards preventing unscrupulous owners ruining clubs - remember Fawaz?

What you are not grasping about rich owners is the fact that they do not spend their own money; they will spend it to buy the club but then go on to use their wealth to obtain credit on the clubs behalf so that the club can operate - some owners finance club purchases with credit and then load it back on to the club, the clubs are then doubly fucked.

That credit is loaded on to the club in the form of debt; all owners do it probably with the exception of the crowd at Manchester City - the best example is Abramovic at Chelsea - Chelsea as a club owe him the best part of 1bn.

In Chelsea's case the debt is in easily financed by the riches of the PL and CL; go down a league and clubs finance debt on a wing and a prayer.

I have no problems with parachute payments, they are there for a purpose and, as Plummer pointed out in detail some while ago, offer very little advantage with regard to the club getting automatic promotion back to the PL.

Once we get to the PL not one person on here will give a fuck about parachute payments; you heard it here first.

The answer is to drown out the rubbish chatter with football talk. Difficult to do in close season but.......

One of the many reasons for wanting to see a lot of the deadwood gone from the club appears to me not only to help finance the accounting system but to also remove any negative influences from a squad that is hopefully pulling in the same direction. By all accounts a lot of the ITK posters told us last season that was the reason for so many leaving in a short space of time in January . I am not privy to such information but rumours state the negative disruptive players were hooked out almost immediately and must admit was surprised to see some of them still here now .

There is a massive difference between debt and money though. The debt at Chelsea may lie with the club, but the cash payments must come from somewhere. Never studied their accounts, but if they are a billion quid in debt they have to raise funds from somewhere. My guess is that somewhere is Abramovic, and they haven't taken out bank loans. His gamble is that one day he will get his money back, but as many an owner has found out, there is no guarantee of that.

Either way FFP limits the amount of money an owner can put in. Fawaz could not have put a £50 million a year Fawaz Refrigeration sponsorship in , even if he'd wanted to, as the rules seem to extend beyond simple losses.

Speaking of un-level playing fields... did anyone else ever play against Gilthill school as a kid? They had a 1:3 slope on their pitch (literally). They would kick downhill in the first half so you were so bloody demoralised by going in trailing by 15 nil at half time - they never lost a match, bastards!

My biggest concern is full back at the moment.

On the right we are supposed to be bringing in Sam Byram. If we do then that’s that pretty much sorted but it has gone a tad quiet on that front recently...

On the left we have brought in Robinson but he is a left back in the same way as Fox in that he has played more at centre back than left back recently.

Are we going 3 at the back? If so Robinson is probably in as a centre back which means we still need a specialist full back unless Fuentes is expected to stay and be fully fit.

Theres a couple of kids in her year who are being watched at the moment by Forest and counteh. My daughter was interviewed for BBC about the World Cup yesterday because one of the boys is in Russia at the moment. I think shes on EMT tonight

Soooooo.... Whats the squad size limit?

GOALIES 5 PANTS, SMITH, KAPINO, EVTIMOV, HENDERSON

DEFENDERS CENTRAL 6 FIGS, MANCIENNE, FOX, LAM, WORRALL, DAWSON

FULLBACKS 3 ROBINSON, DARIKWA, TRAORE

MID CENTRAL 5 WATSON, GUEDDY, BRIDCUTT, YATES, OSBORN

MID WIDE 6 LOLLEY, GONCALVES, DIAS, CASH, WARD, MCKAY

NO 10 (HOLE) 3 SOUDANI, CARVALHO, CLOUGH,

STRIKERS 5 GRABBAN, BRERETON, VELLIOS, CUMMINGS, MURPHY,

LOANED 3 WALKER, ARIYIBI, GRANT

Total 36

I would expect 12 players from the 36 to leave or go on loan (yates) leaving us with 24. One more player in and we have 25 (22 accounting for three on loan)

My preferences:
PERM OUT: Kapino, Henderson, Manc, Lam, Traore, McKay, Clough, Ward, Vellios, Cummings

LOAN OUT: Evitmov

I would actually like to see Yates given a chance in the holding midfield berth, perhaps box to box. Looks like he has plenty of strength and power, and comes across really confident also. Gueddy is knocking on a bit and I honestly just don’t think Bridcutt is that good.

I'd not be unhappy to see MacKay and Lam stay if Kranky thinks they've something to offer. Both have ability. Clough does too but we've hopefully made some clear upgrades.
