The Politics Thread

The Government has dismissed criticism of Dominic Raab for allegedly avoiding quarantine rules.
Government ministers are exempt from quarantine on account of conducting essential state business for the UK outside of the country. The exemptions cover both red list and non-red list countries.

And the complete cockwomble didn't even have the brains to head this off by then being photographed wearing a mask for appearance sakes on his return when meeting other people.

Sounds more like the Chinese state Communist Party every passing day.

Shame Labour are so poor as they should be having a field day with all this. Just shows the Tory contempt across the board doesn't it.
This is the problem Mike. The labour Party no longer has any appeal. I never liked Tony Blair but he knew how to win. He used go talk a lot and say nothing and that way he never put his foot in it. Unless Labour can come up with someone similar they will be in the wilderness for a very long time.

Will the Tories and golden boy Rishi do the right thing? No they won't.

NHS waiting lists could top 15 million in four years without major rise in capacity

Overspend of at least £5bn likely, says Nuffield Trust – but cabinet is deeply split over size of future funding settlement

The waiting list for NHS care in England could rise to 15 million people in the next four years without a significant increase in its current capacity, ministers are warned, amid a cabinet clash over the service’s future funding.

With senior figures inside the health service warning there is currently “a chasm” between the NHS and the Treasury over the financial settlement now needed, exclusive analysis seen by the Observer shows that NHS trusts in England are on course to spend almost £5bn more next financial year than was anticipated when Theresa May set the service’s funding levels in 2018.

A lot of people voted for Brexit to save the NHS. They then voted for Boris to get Brexit done.

you dont realise the fact, most of these tory voters are ex labour , and they are leaving in droves, when you have an opposition party that is clueless and in tatters, you have no chance, so you have what you have, and theres nothing wrong with tory voters they wont bite you, seanie ex labour

DOWNING STREET AT WAR: Allies of Rishi Sunak are briefing the papers that there is no way the chancellor would accept a demotion, following reports in the Sunday Times the PM is considering moving him to the health department. “If he loses Rishi, he loses direction completely,” a source told The Times. “He would have the most likely contender to replace him on the back benches. He’s not going to take a demotion. That would be ridiculous.” Elsewhere, in Labour land, Gerard Coyne, the candidate who narrowly failed to beat Len McCluskey four years ago, is “quietly confident” of winning the leadership of Unite, the party’s largest affiliated union.

Caught that yesterday, Bojo's cronies were trying to paint it as a 'joke' when Rishi's side were saying it was anything but, and Bojo can't stand the fact he's not popular in the polls lol

Problem is seanie its very much in vogue at the moment to not have a friend, or have a conversation with, anyone that thinks different to yourself.
Stupid.

Just watching a Panorama programme about Cameron and Greensil. I hadn’t read too much into it before, but it’s shocking a former PM could work and worse, own shares, in a company operating as fraudulent as that. Shocking, shocking story, drives me mad all these Tory currants trying it make hundred of millions out of us the tax payers.

Just seen a clip. £7.5m was his total profit on the deal.

Has Gavin (Nothern twat) Williamson really said students have suffered more during Covid than kids did in the World Wars?

As he tries to justify pass rates down + A star rates up to 48%???

They deserve a reward????

A's & A*'s up 70 odd % since the last exams were held and the wealth gap has spiked with more pupils failing over all.

LOL it was robust.

Oh it gets better.

Understandably students have only been graded on the portion of the syllabus they were taught. So people have come out with spiked A* grades despite NOT knowing or completing the full topic?????

Why hasn't this then been %'ed out to reflect what they don't know?
