The player who left thread

As if people haven't got enough problems and things to worry about at the moment.

The Club and Jack should be all over this denying if it isn't true and if it is, they should be telling everyone that an investigation is being held.

I know they can't put down every rumour and crap twitter, but this is important, he's the icon for so many of the youth and is the captain of our club.

Dont want to offend anyone but I dont think it's that bad at all, no. We need to protect our vulnerable and be aware but we cant expect 100% of people to stay indoors for the next six months. Socialise sensibly would be my idea.

Would you do a video one day telling everyone what to do, and break it yourself the very next day because you consider yourself more important than everyone else?

I don't think you would, from the exchanges I've seen you have on this site ldg.

And the advice is crucial, if this or any other prick is ignoring it, they should have fines at the very least, and personally think they should all be (businesses as well) named and shamed.

We are talking about peoples lives.

As one health official said, this is a pandemic, not a national holiday

don't think one is worse than another, drink drivers are total scum though and should go to prison. I know a few on here have had their lives destroyed by the selfish ****s who drink drive. I have no tolerance at all, as my parents know a family whose life was destroyed as well.

If he's done both, as Deano says, after being the big I am on video telling people to stay in, then it will be a 'how fucking dare you?' situation and yes, same as above, I'd like to see any drink driver put in prison, maybe it is the only way to get the message back out there.

In my generation (I'm 51) the stigma for drink driving was massive, drug driving wasn't much of a thing. I think the powers that be have stopped banging home the message and for the younger generations (youngsters, feel free to correct me) it doesn't have the same stigma.

As you know I'm one of those whose life has been massively affected by losing someone to a pissed up driver and regardless of who they are I'll never forgive them so I hope this story isn't true?

However, the silence from Grealish/family and the club is deafening isn't it?

I wouldn't advise one thing and then act out another but my own opinion on this is Jack was probably asked to make that video as someone of influence.

He looks foolish now after being photographed at the scene of a crash a few hours later, but he was wearing pyjamas so he wasnt going far. He wasnt at a party. It's important to slow the spread but like I said, I dont think we can expect everyone to stay indoors for six months. He might have been visiting a friend, dropping off gym equipment, anything. I'm just personally not going to hold it against him, unless he was under the influence which is a totally different criminal situation.

He has a responsibility, whether he likes it (at his pay and with the level of hero worship he should) or not (in that case, don't be captain, don't do videos, no one can force that)

IF true, he has compounded the issue and other youngsters equally and stupid, foolish or perhaps under the misapprehension that this only affects the old so fuck them (sorry, that is what selfish actions imply) then maybe they won't get the message until they lose a loved one, or become ill themselves.

There simply is no middle ground.

You say he hasn't gone far. He lives in or around Barnt Green (fact) so he has gone far.

Well, we should expect people to be able to stay indoors for the first fucking week for starters! People are dying, NHS workers are going to die, some from the virus and very likely a few from suicide, elderly people and the vulnerable are going to die in their droves and all, ALL, we're being asked to do is stay indoors unless it's essential. Wake the fuck up.

Before we all go off the deep end the club needs to make a statement clearing things up, it is 1.30pm they should have had one prepared for first thing.

What a twat if true, I mean drinking and driving is such a scum thing to do in the first place but then when there’s supposed to a national lockdown, even worse, and then after telling other people to stay in, even worse again. Hope there’s another explanation but seems like he’s getting into a similar state of mind that he had in his earlier years

I don't want to say much more on this until the facts are clear but the last thing I will say is that the silence on this, from player and club, is pretty deafening so far.

My in law just made a good point - this happened over 24 hours ago now, and Jack has supposedly vanished. If the police haven’t caught him, what evidence is there that he was drink driving because the alcohol in his bloodstream is gone or below a chargeable limit by now.

As for drink driving by the way, it’s only acceptable if your name is Declan Donnelly - quite a few in off topic at that time we’re defending good old Dec - so let’s not have any double standards.

It won’t be alcohol he is worried about if he is still giving the police the runaround.

Maybe our comms guy was at the same party.

Said in jest I know, but he's far too sensible and a proper family man. So no, he won't have been! Genuinely nice character. IF true, I feel for him, as he'll have a double work load as if he hasn't enough on his plate.

I for one certainly wasn't!

Zero tolerance and even less for those wealthy enough to have drivers, but to be fair, to anyone. You can afford to get drunk, you can afford a train or uber or whatever else you paupers travel by...! :grinning:

If it isn't true he'll have a lot more work to do persuading people it isn't true.
