Good half and deservedly up. Explosive start from us and could have been easily at least 2-0 up with a bit of luck (Lee hitting the post and marginal penalty shout going against us) and slightly better finishing (Dempsey and Lee shanking fairly decent chances too). Ipswich have come into it a bit as the half went and hit on the outside of the post with an acrobatic overhead kick - it wasn't one that to be honest looked like it was going in to me, kind of speculative and looping and clipped the outside of the post. Their best chance was a poor marking from Tucker, which let Norwood get on to a pump up field from their defender and get one on one on the edge of the box. Fortunately, he was slow and dawdled and Tucker got back brilliantly to redeem himself with an excellent sliding block tackle. That was it really.
Encouraging, but we can't forget that we had a similar first half against Peterborough a few weeks ago where we dominated and went ahead 1-0 at half time (and again it could have been more). We came out slow in the second half, the scored immediately and went on to win easily. Ipswich clearly aren't as good and don't play as slick football as Peterborough, but they have good players, so we need to be on our game to ensure we win or even don't lose from here.
