The National league...

NLS Final today - Worthing 3 - 4 Braintree Town. Watched it, entertaining game. Defenders didn`t have best days but, nevertheless, some very well taken goals by both sides. NLS Braintree join Yeovil (champs) and NLN champs Tamworth and p/off winners Boston United in elevating to the NL for 24/25. Well done to all - the NL has morphed into a quality division over the past few years.

Good Luck to ex Gill Alan Julian who takes over as manager at Hampton and Richmond.
9th in National league South last year .So remit to minimum make the playoffs one would think?
I wonder if he will be doing and deals with Gills this summer?

Good lad is Alan. He's been their keeper for a few years now and always has had a good relationship with fans of other clubs, not just his own. Good character and has always been respectful wherever he's been, I hope he does really well in the hotseat.

Southend United`s game at AFC Fylde was called off earlier this afternoon following severe travel disruption. I don`t know for sure but, aside from the M6 being shut - which would have caused SUFC coaches a lot of hassle, I heard that the problem for the Team was connected to Train issues !

Would have been plenty of Shrimpers fans up here already and plenty more making the journey today - really feel for them. Game to be re-arranged.

On the subject of AFC Fylde, last night the club turned down a very large offer (well into six figures) for 19 year old Taelor O`Kane. I think it was from Peterborough United. He`s a gifted player and will eventually play in higher leagues. O`Kane and 18 year old forward Danny Ormerod will both make a pot of gold for Fylde at some time. The club`s Academy is perhaps bucking the trend and is proving very worthwhile.

Good to see that the strikers signed by our recruitment team (and before*) are now so well represented in the National League.

Macauley Bonne and Josh Walker (Southend) Nads (Sutton) and Lewis Walker* (Woking).

With Andrews seeming to be a long term crock, and perhaps Rowe as well, and with Nichols sold on so quickly, that just leaves The Hawk plus Nevitt as a possible solid future success at League Two level.
