The General Football thread

It's downright mercenary - I know that keeping up income is essential, and I could easily swallow the 6% rise after 5 years of no increases, but killing off the senior concession is a despicable move.
The club doesn't want Seniors

Don't spend in club shop
I doubt (I'm stereotyping here I know ) they don't drink and eat as much

In the clubs eyes they are a wasted seat

If Liverpool win the EL and finish top 4 does the PL get a 5th CL place regardless of co-efficients?

Then yes, it would be a certainty.

You can certainly see why Gallagher would be demotivated when comparing his value to CFC compared to his highly paid squad members. He's getting a bum deal.

Or, win our game in hand (it's only against Chelsea who are always an easy game right?) and then beat Arsenal, City and Liverpool to take the title....
Unfortunately our maximum points for the season is 86, and at least one if not two of the present top three will exceed that, irrespective of whether they lose to us or not. I'll happily settle for those four wins though, they would pretty much guarantee us CL football, with maybe a squeak of finishing third. As for who wins the PL, it won't be us, so I'm really not bothered any which way.

Arsenal, City and Liverpool are all still heavily involved in European competitions, we saw yesterday how this can affect league performances but the three mentioned all have depth to their squads, Liverpool maybe not quite so and rely on youth, but you never know.

I've not spent hours watching replays like some have, but it looks like Doku gets the ball and Mac runs into him

A collision?
That was my impression also and I think that was what the VAR officials decided, but it was Liverpool, so they are the victims of injustice yet again! lol

I'm with you Sock however in all to many scenarios, I've seen a pen given, and for less.

I'm still in the camp that the other penalty shouldn't have been given. I would really like officials to turn round to someone like Nunez and say that they lost their team a penalty through simulation. It was clear to me that Nunez got the ball first and Edersen made contact with him. What was also clear is that after touching the ball, Nunez put his 2 feet together and threw his body and arms. The latter should be the deciding factor in declining the penalty, and a yellow should have been issued.

When football gets some class back, this is how it would play out.

You're right, Nunez wouldn't have gone up and over Ederson's leg the way he did from contact alone, he clearly launched himself on contact.
