The Emi Martinez Thread

If clubs are refusing to send players, the National FA of those countries can complain to FIFA and get them banned from representing their clubs for the same games anyway.

Likes that going to happen to the Sky teams

Who knows, but was reading a report earlier that Brazil have already asked FIFA to action this due to the likes of Alisson, Ederson, Richarlison etc not being released.
Not sure on Argentina's situation - could be their manager is full of hot air as Spuds seem to be in the same situation as us and were expecting Lo Celso and Romero back after the 2nd game. Their 3rd game is against Bolivia so they should win that with a 2nd string team anyway

Buendia is the second string though

As long as it is not in Bolivia (due to the altitude).

If the country insists, not much can be done about it. Our players playing in Europe have always been released. Didn't apply though when Ramsey decided he wouldn't pick players playing abroad. E.g. Gerry Hitchens.

apparently after the 3 games Martinez and Buendia will then train with Hajduk Split for 10 days before flying back to the UK. Utter shambles if you ask me

why ? other clubs aren't , they are prioritising domestic/club duties .
We are making life difficult for ourselves

And all those players being forced to stay behind are on their social media moaning about it. Its a shit situation that doesn't have any good outcomes no matter what we do.

Mcginn could get injured for the Scots or Ramsey for the under 21s. Do we not allow them to play for their country next time round? We knew Buendia was going to get called up seeing as we signed him whilst he was with the national squad. We signed Martinez because we were able to sell him that he'd be our number 1 and get his chance to be Argentinas number 1.

If you sign a bunch of international players they are going to play For their national sides and it will always be an inconvenience. If you don't want that then you sign someone not good enough to play for their country and we'd be moaning about them being shit instead of this nonsense.

International games aren't normally associated with an additional 10 days of isolation - so it's hardly a normal situation of signing an international player versus someone 'shit'.

Zenit have recalled a couple of their Brazilians after belatedly realising they'd miss a champs league game - maybe we could send Dougie out to make up the numbers

About time they did away with international breaks and made teams play without their players , like they do with Cricket
