Haha I remember the day well, started big school earlier that month. Mum and dad were in the stand, I was with my new school mates. Don't remember much of the game, but great atmosphere and bloody great pies in them days.
Anyone know what the attendance was?

Apparently the Dave Fretwell lookalike is actually Mark Jones twin brother of Nick the lad pictured in the goalkeepers top

My biggest memory of the first couple of seasons was the amount of violence in the ground.
Barnsley 1-1 was scary as a 9 year old watching non segregated fans attacking each other In the home end - always remember those fans who wore the shin high doc martins causing a bit of damage.
Walsall home 2nd season I saw a Wigan fan picking up a concrete block and hurling into the wallsall fans such was the disrepair of the ground at the time.
