Slaviska Jokanovic the latest

I could have written that based on what I know...
We all could but whether that article is fact or fiction any decent manager will have done their research and know we have no creativity or special game changing players. That can only be rectified with a competitive budget. After Wilder the next msn is on a hiding to nothing unless he has quick success. He won’t get that unless he adds quality.

ZERO excuse for not guaranteeing him a very good budget.

If we can't do that after we've been in the PL for 2 seasons we're truly fucking pathetic.

I suppose it depends on what he calls a very good budget v what the prince calls one.
There's a lot of dross been brought in that's been de-valued even further ( Moose the prime example) so the prince may well be wary of throwing more money at it.
There's also the thought,in so many minds, maybe the prince's too, that some will somehow come good again in the Champ.
If Iwas the new manager I would look at that with a very large pinch of salt. Some of those mentioned looked shot to me.( professional pride has hardly come to the fore regardless of ability, technique, desire , skill or commitment)

If we knew the definitive clause re Berge -35m or 12m- then we would have a much better idea of what the new manager can raise to fund a promotion push.

Whoever it is will have watched groundhog match day performances that will have him thinking he needs a complete new squad not a , Robson like, 'tinkering' budget - as he said when 1st coming in.

Saw something on FB today saying JOC might need another year???

Being able to spend £20m on signings would have to be considered a very good budget.

Especially with what that will now get you, with Championship clubs struggling and a large number of free agents.

We could have that sort of budget with a comfortably positive net spend, due to selling Berge and any others.

We should also be able to stretch quite far on wages for quality loan signings, and we may need loans to get the required quality in attacking areas.

Nothing would surprise me with JOC. I'm not counting on him playing again anytime soon.

This means we will have to add another CB - a left footed one if we're continuing with 3 at the back.

It would also mean we may prefer to keep Egan (probably have no choice anyway).

Jake Cooper would be my preferred signing there. Kristian Pedersen from Birmingham also worth consideration. Kortney Hause too if Villa want to sell.

Kristian Pedersen from Birmingham also worth consideration.

Third season in a row where he's leading the Championship fullback stats for challenges won - achieving that playing for a miserable Birmingham side. Bowyer moved him to the left of a back three and both the player and the team flourished.

He's on the last year of a four year contract so there may be some sensible business that can be done. Could try offering Robinson or Lowe as makeweights.

I think it's now time to restructure the squad. I'd let Stevens go if we can get decent money for him and continue with the Norrington-Daves and Bogle approach (Osborn can play their too).

He demands a big salary but he's the stand out option along with Bilic.

I wouldn't mind a couple of million less spent on players and have a top manager.

Some clubs are all about the players,

We'll never have decent players so our club is definitely one of those where it's all about the manager

Jokanovic just feels right.

He's a promotion specialist who plays attractive attacking football and is more of a modern day coach than the managers we've had prior.

The last two post relegation appointments, Robson and Wilson, didn't feel right and divided the fan base. From what I can make out the overwhelming majority want Slav.

...and if our shower of shit plays like it did last night he's got an easy gig!

In my best Eric Morecambe voice JJ…
We have had plenty of decent players
Not necessarily for very long though
I’ll give you that :geek:

Robson didn’t divide the fan base they were United in not wanting him !

I remember at the time that there were some who thought it would be great Bully.

They must have been viewing him through the bottom of the same bottles he emptied so rapidly

Bit In Paper has apparently said West Brom are lining up Jokanovic in case Wilder rejects them, and he might, because due to his ego and delusion he's holding out for a PL job. LOL. West Brom also want to pay 25k p/w apparently, which wouldn't meet Jokanovic's demands.
