Well you would of thought with it being a local derby in front of a sell out crowd, the FA would of appointed a referee with some experience and knowledge of how to handle a big match atmosphere, but no we get some unknown bloke called Mike Dean? Anyway if you manage to catch the full game give us your thoughts. For the eds take on this ICYMI click here https://lincoln.vitalfootball.co.uk...experienced-premier-league-referee-appointed/

He got the game's one big decision right, and his expression of utter disgust when one of the Grimsby players went down looking for a penalty late on was pretty funny as well.

But...

This is exactly why some people have been turned off by Premier League football. Fouls given for every little niggle, yellow cards for the most innocuous of challenges, completed disrupted the flow of the game.

A begrudging 5.

I can not believe that this guy is meant to be one of the best refs in the PL. Should they not have had a second red for the blatant shirt pull that stopped a goal scoring opportunity?

Got the red right. Should probably have shown another late on, but did get it right in not giving a pen.
But, definitely not a game for as many cards as he gave. Competitive and reasonably fair from both sides. Far too many soft free kicks.

Was expecting so much more, card happy, red looked correct but looked like he thought we’d come to see him. Think he’s found his level
