I’m so glad I don’t support MKD - think I’d rip up my season ticket and take up fishing or stamp-collecting to give me something to get my pulse racing occasionally. Just glad that the ref didn’t knee-jerk and send Brennan off as he clearly made the difference in terms of finishing. First half was mega-frustrating but second much better.
Palmer - 6.5 - didn’t have anything really difficult to do but dominated well when he had to. Kicking is shocking at the moment - lost count of the number of times he put the ball in the stands, and one where he almost lost possession.
Poole - 6.5 - shows promise but still hasn’t settled properly (Be interesting to see him after pre-season). Wonder if he needs Harry in front of him to build an effective relationship, both attacking and defending
Jackson - 7- solid and reliable and plays well alongside Walsh.
Walsh - 7.5 - as Notty says - a Rolls Royce of a player. Reads the game so well and positions himself superbly for the team structure and style of play
Bramall - 7 - his pace is truly electrifying and if he could only finish off some of his runs with the final ball. MKD clearly saw him as a threat as they clobbered him time and again. Still think the goal should be his
Edun - 8.5 - my MoM for his sheer hard work and quality. Lost count of the number of times he came out of tussles with two or three Dons players with one little shimmy or turn and burst away with the ball
McGrandles - 8 - was everywhere, hardly put a foot wrong and played some beautiful passes at times, plus a couple of vital defensive interceptions/headers.
Johnson - 8 - superb hat-trick and clearly knows how to get himself into position to score goals, and more importantly how to finish them. Normally would be MoM but I wish he would be a bit more self-disciplined.
Rogers - 7.5 - came alive more in the second half with some beautiful passes, especially the reverse pass for BJs first goal. The defensive elements of his game are improving I noticed as well.
Scully - 6.5 - scuttles about like a terrier but didn’t really have the full effect last night. Too isolated out wide? Final ball let him down occasionally as well.
Morton - 6.5 - like Scully, didn’t really have the desired effect last night. There was one moment when the two CBs were only a few yards apart knocking the ball between them and he just stood off them. Just not clicking for him at the moment.
Eyoma - 7 - slotted in seamlessly after he came on and looked comfortable.
Anderson - 6.5 - did OK but lacking that half a yard of burst. Would love to see him have a few games with Poole as I think there’s a decent partnership in there
