I don't recall ever doing a Q&A with a manager before (please correct me if I am wrong).

Hopefully, this Q&A will help us reach more of our fan base and help keep this website going.

Prior to Covid it appeared the club were targeting exciting young players with 'sell on' potential. In response to the post Covid ramifications are you anticipating any great changes in your recruitment approach in terms of potential versus experience. For example there may be a glut of released experienced players that previously wouldn't have been available to Lincoln so would you be tempted to move away from the development model a little, towards a higher number of ready made players or do you still strongly favour coaching and moulding younger players?

Why didn't you put Evans on his fat arse, we all would of cheered (after giving him a standing count)?

As a player, then coaching followed by management, during those times there must have been highs and lows, we probably know the lows so focusing on the highs, can you share them with us ?

What drives you in adding value in developing young talent and indeed the club. Moreover, are you comfortable and indeed excited in the model the club are now pursuing ?

What motivates you to get out of bed every morning to manage Lincoln.

Have you tried stuffed Chine yet ?

Have you got any after dinner speaking type funnies, involving those in the professional game you have come across.

What is the best advice Sir Alex has given you. Furthermore, what advice would you give to youngsters who have the “dream” of playing professional football and advice to those currently in academies who could either progress to the first team or indeed progress no further.

When you arrived at Lincoln did all the players buy into your vision and methods ? Or alternatively, was there scepticism in certain quarters ?

Having balance within the team is important. Are you looking at an experienced spine to the team moving forward such as GK,Central Defence, Midfield, Striker or is there room for manoeuvre within the spine.

Are you content with the non playing staff setup and structure or do you envisage any further changes in this area with movement of staff both in and out.

Was coaching/managing always on your career path or did your enforced retirement from playing cause you to make that readjustment ?

It is pretty obvious that teams will be operating will smaller squad numbers next season. What do you feel will be the minimum number you can operate on. And what make up numbers wise would you be looking at?
For example 2 goalkeepers, 6 defenders etc etc

Firstly thank you for agreeing to the Q&A.

Have the board set any targets for next season should it ever start?
If the season starts behind closed doors would it help the players to have crowd sound played over the tannoy?

Do you think you can take Lincoln City into the Championship, or do you think you will hitch a lift on the back of a “bigger” club?

Did Covid actually make your retained player decisions easier?

Which player did you respect most last season. Who creeped to you most for a game?

Have your summer plans changed with the curtailed season in that players were released due to costs and loan lads unable to prove their worth, or do you think it has actually opened up opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t have been there in that there will be players available who would not have been?

How much say do you have in recruitment as the manager. What is the structure at Lincoln of talent spotting and who is involved. How does your role fit in that alongside Jez George?
