We don't hate the people who do this, naturally, some have been coerced into their first 'fix' or even born addicts but we need a bigger message to be put out which shows the mess that drugs make of people's lives and the knock on effect with all those that live around them and the cost to society. The message needs to include the financial and emotional costs to people. Coming from a Secondary school where we put out a very strong message to pupils about drugs and being married to a headteacher of two primary schools that also puts out a strong message, I just wonder, knowing that pupils still get involved with drugs even after this, whether our message is simply not graphic enough. Why can't we have a huge national campaign against drugs, massive publicity, a police hotline where pushers and suppliers can be ratted on and more support for those that want to quit. Also if recent immigrants are shown to be pushing or supplying drugs, then they should be deported immediately.
