Match Thread: Port Vale v Lincoln City

Quietly pockets the three points and slips out of the back door.
We're on a good run results wise but it would be wonderful to back it up with a statement making performance against Shrewsbury.

League table pressure and confidence are not a factor so let's see the handbrake coming off, with some out of the blocks high intensity on Tuesday please.

Certainly not one for the purists, but 3 points away from home is always a great feeling.

It was always going to be a battle, especially with that pitch. We can play better and we have played better, but sometimes you just need to do enough to beat what’s in front of you.

9 points off play offs with a game in hand on Oxford and we still have them to play.

We couldn’t, could we?

UTI!

If we'd had literally any strikers for the first half of the season we'd be right in the play-off picture. Unlikely to happen now but the best we can do is keep winning and give ourselves a platform to build on for next season.

Had to put minimal effort in today to get the points. Certainly a win from the other teams deficiencies rather than our efforts.

9 more wins and maybe play offs lol.

Must say, their lad Nathan Smith was absolutely comical.

Surprised we didn’t attack him more, as he was an absolute car crash of a defender.

Did his best impression of Patrick Kanyuka for the whole game!

February has turned into a good month, which we needed after the difficult 6/7 week run we had from away at Derby just before Xmas.

Fingers crossed House is back in contention on Tuesday.

Not a classic but we’ve got into a nice habit of not conceding goals and then you’ve always got a chance.
Shouldn’t underestimate the fact we prepared to play a certain way and losing House means we had to rejig tactics on the morning of the game .

Close to the manager of the month curse? :)
