Match Thread: Ipswich Town v Lincoln City

Very annoying. We’ve made some good chances but haven’t taken them. Just need to keep going and try and be a bit more composed. UTI 👊

If we are building a squad to challenge the playoff spots Vickers overall game isn’t good enough. If we just want to survive then okay keep playing him.

Yet again. A timid back foot away first half *Performance*
just like Oxford, Coventry, Sunderland...

nothing from either luxury wide man.

and yet, their central defence is there for the taking, we have had about 5 or 6 nearly, nearly situations, but just lacked that bit of conviction and belief.

why do we continue to over-respect these supposed bigger teams away from home?... it clearly never works. and is giving the same end result every time

Point of interest: Sincil Bank (LNER) pitch.

Appleton would prefer a better pitch. Isn't it odd that our home form is significantly better at home? Considering the away pitches are usually in better condition that ours, do we have an advantage playing on the worser pitch? I don't know.

Bolger at fault? Was better last week but you always know a mistake isn't far away sadly.

Bolger was beaten in the air for the goal, the header was only from a yard or so out. Can't really blame the keeper for that as he could in no way have claimed a ball that went right over to the far post.

It's a shame because we looked dangerous every time we attacked, on the break it was often 2 vs 2, and apart from one opportunity when "the Ipswich player" to quote Hortin broke through the middle Ipswich didn't create anything clear. Walker had two very good chances.

HT. Ipswich very slow in their build-up, while we’ve had some pretty good chances, just need a bit better composure. Not quite clicking for us yet and two or three players not quite on their game (Harry, Edun, Melbourne). Disappointing of Melbourne to give away a FK in that position with little or no threat. If we can click better in the second half I reckon we can score at least two as their three defenders are leaving Walker and JJ plenty of room.

Bolger shouldn't be beaten in the air! He's 6 foot 4!

They have three big centre backs, two centre forwards, and a big lad in centre midfield, Bolger can’t cover them all. A high hanging cross from the far touchline, into the far post can legitimately be judged as keeper’s ball. well for a tall, strong, confident keeper it is...
