Now we are safe, the big fixtures below us are:

Doncaster v Burton
Fleetwood v AFCW
MKD v Morecambe
Portsmouth v Gillingham

The table:

19. Morecambe 44 42 -28
20. Gillingham 44 40 -30
-----------------------------
21. Fleetwood 43 39 -17
22. AFCW 44 36 -25
23. Doncaster 44 34 -47
R Crewe 44 28 -45

Doncaster need to win both games by a big margin and hope Gillingham lose both remaining games by big margins. DOOMED.

AFCW need a win and a draw as a minimum, but really need to win both to stand any chance at all. Without a win in 25 games, that looks unlikely. DOOMED.

That essentially leaves the other three to fight to avoid the remaining relegation place. Fleetwood's game in hand is against in-form Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night, which will probably be a defeat. A win today over hopeless AFCW would take them to 42 points which could prove enough. Gillingham's recent improvement has stalled with no wins in four games, although we know that Portsmouth are vulnerable at the back - a win today would almost certainly keep Gillingham up. Morecambe are probably safe unless Gillingham and Fleetwood pick up a win each from their remaining games.

So, who do we want to go down - Fleetwood, Gillingham or Morecambe?

Gillingham for me

So, who do we want to go down - Fleetwood, Gillingham or Morecambe?

Either Fleetwood or Gillingham. Just for purely selfish reasons, I consider Morecambe to be local enough to travel to. Even though it's nearly 2 hours away, it's a fairly pleasant, and scenic, drive (and I can't think of many journeys in the UK I'd say that about!).

One thing though, if we do play Morecambe next season - can we have a Saturday fixture, rather than a Tuesday?

I'd like Fleetwood or Morecombe to get relegated. For me Gillingham are a " traditional FL side". Also they will bring slightly more fans to SB than the other two.

I'm conflicted - for selfish reasons of matches I can get to, I'd want Gills to go down. But Gills staying up would give Evans a bit of a middle finger - especially if he also takes Stevenage down.

But on balance? Bye bye Gills.

Until Steve Evans left I definitely wanted Gillingham to go down, but I have a lot of time for Neil Harris. Lovely bloke. Used to stop at my neighbours in SE London in the days when he played for Millwall to pick up their boy, who was a Millwall youth player. Not really bothered about who goes down now.
