Yes- kids still can have an official day off school to attend (certainly can where I am in Lincs anyway).

Someone may tell me otherwise but I am sure two of the original reasons for a midweek Lincs show were
Lincolnshire had a half day closing on a Wednesday (and some towns in Lincs still do!)
A weekend show would have infringed on a Sunday and that wasn't going to happen XX years ago
Maybe other reasons I'm sure.

Yeh, my two children are at the Show today. It's classed as an educational visit, which it is. Hopefully my lad will get a glimpse of the new city shirt.
