Still very quiet in League One, no signings announced for two days.
Just over five days to go, and some of those chains should start to unravel soon.
Some clubs have a lot to do. Wigan look in real trouble now, both on and off the field; the takeover saga rolls on and on, and ten players have already left this January with only four replacements so far. They lost 5-0 at home to a weakened Blackpool side last night, and have Oxford, Lincoln, Peterborough and Charlton on the horizon.
Oxford and Peterborough remain the only two clubs not to have transacted any business at all, either in or out.
Charlton and Hull appear to have made some high quality but strangely expensive acquisitions; Sunderland have seen only one in, and one out; Ipswich continue to slide down the table at an alarming rate (just as they did last season) and have done next to nothing in the transfer market (just as they did last season); and Accrington's budget has permitted just one in, one out so far.
The main movement to date has been at the bottom of the table as clubs struggle against relegation. In addition to the wildly revolving door at Wigan, Swindon have 5 in, 4 out; Shrewsbury 4 in, 7 out; Northampton 5 in, 4 out; MK Dons 4 in, 5 out; and Burton 4 in, 4 out with more to come.
Where will the action be during the next five days? Keep watching this thread, we will continue to update it whenever anything happens.
And there will be a summary article published just after the window closes. It will list every transfer in League One, together with a club-by-club summary and an indication of how effective each one has been relative to the others: positive, status quo, or negative.
