If residents parking permits are introduced in the Sincil Bank area that's going to have a massive impact on matchday parking.

I've used the free bus travel for the last few seasons, great scheme.
Park and ride could be good, lots of clubs use this already due to limited.
More trains would be good too, I'm not far from Hykeham station and it takes 10 minutes tops to get into the city centre from there.
Free car parking there too.

I also use the free bus travel. As you say it's a great initiative.

I wonder where all the stewards will park? When I lived on Shakespeare Street about 3 cars turned up around 12 noon

The list of streets to become residents only parking is not just SB but much further afield as well. The common parking could become very busy on match days, and spaces on South Park will become like rocking horse poo.

That's right down to bracebridge, blimey!
The car parks in the city centre offer reduced rate parking on matchdays don't they?
Boultham park Road area will get very busy.

For those who fancy cycling, there’s secure cycle racks at the station and on the St. Marks shopping area. You need to register to use both. Think there’s a cost for the station to get a tag, but the one at St. Marks is free and has finger print entry.

Well from now on I shall be cycling to the match as part of my new get fit and lose some weight regime. Got my bike lights for night matches and high viz cycling jacket and helmet so I am sorted!

Last I heard r.e. permits, they weren't expecting it to go through because of the additional costs to tenants/landlords.

I don't know why St. Andrews Street needs permit parking, they've all got driveways!

If it's anything like the ones close to where I used to work, any on driveways don't need the permit, just those physically on the street

That's what I mean. I can understand other areas because you step out the front door and you're on the pavement so the only parking they have is right outside but St. Andrews Street all have adequate driveway parking for two cars, so why they'd need to operate permits/residents only parking on the street there I don't know.

It might be simply that if other streets have that imposed upon them, but this one doesn't they might find themselves becoming very busy. They do have to have the agreement of the occupants/owners ( not sure exact percentage) as where it happened close to us, some streets didn't agree to it so it wasn't imposed whereas others did. I think the local authority just has to pick an area at first for the consultations before making those restrictions in specific streets

It's an interesting debate. Councils - of all political persuasions - have been rapacious over parking fees in city centres. And then bewail "the decline of the high street".

No driveways on St Andrews Street Luke. Do you mean St Andrews Close?

Can’t see this getting passed, too much of a rental market.

Also the City of Lincoln Council recently shelved plans for the Sincil Bank regeneration. This was to redirect funding to support the recovery during and after Covid.

Must be St. Andrews Close then, the one behind Playzone. Row of bungalows.

I've parked down there for 12 years or so, it's a popular place to part but never stops anyone else from getting in or out of a driveway.

True. It gets full every match day, there's probably only room for 30 odd cars but access to residents isn't affected. The residents don't even use the 'spaces' where people park on a match day.
