Lampard appointed

I welcome this on the basis that conventional wisdom is against it. Its a gamble, but we haven't exactly succeeded with other "non gambles" , so why not? Now we have an online casino as shirt sponsor, and a rookie manager, maybe we will gamble more and return to those 5-4 wins not 0-0 boredom.

On the subject of another gambling sponsor, what is it about football shirt sponsors that attract the grubby end of business? Gambling, obesity and junk food, I'm sure some alcohol and if it wasn't for it being illegal, tobacco industry involvement too. Next it will be your local drug dealers.

Where's all the nice cutesie sponsors gone: Mothercare, Dorothy Perkins, Bondara etc. Forest could even get sponsored by Poundland.

Fat Frankie's Black & White Army,
We're not mad we're feckin' barmy.

Stroke of brilliance or complete and utter madness? None of us have the slightest idea. IMO the only thing he is missing is experience. He seems to have the rest of the package. Here's hoping he learns quickly.

A very warm welcome Frank. You have said you want to utilise our young uns. Time they had a chance. I look forward to seeing them perform and learn.

Was thinking it's a gamble, can't be any worse than the last eleven years unless we get relegated. I'm behind Mel and Frank on this! Can't wait for him to get started!!!

I'm all for it
We had to change our approach of recruiting under achieving championship managers that ultimately fail
Seems a nice guy, who has many friends in football which might help us.

As another tumbleweed drifts by.... a strangely unanimated lack of response

I think much of the ‘animated response’ has already been done Rog. Would have been a bigger surprise if he hadn’t come.
Much keener on the manager than the sponsor but, like you, I welcome him.
No guarantees of course, but he’s bright, knowledgeable, ambitious and, one imagines, has good contacts. Seems like a good combination to me.
Much will now depend, imo, on how well we can off load the uncommitted/not good enough and begin to rebuild with a healthier combination of youth and experience...good luck with that Frank.

I thought he gave a good press conference! Emphasised his belief in hard work and team's workrate which may make one or two have a twitchy summer break!
Did seem genuinely proud to be given the job!
He'll have my full support, welcome to PP Frank. Let's get this club moving again TOGETHER!!

I think we are in agreement over this one. No one's knows how it is going to pan out. Perhaps like Dougie Freedman's reign at Forest. Hands tied behind the back due to FFP constraints.

I’m not sure Dougie Freedman and Frank Lampard are entirely comparable, Basie...but we’ll see.

3 years... Look forward to paying off that contract then! Perhaps he could play instead?

Either way, here's hoping he can pull a miracle. Good luck Frank

Like Dougie Freedman did before him, Frank Lampard will have to face the first wave of financial constraints. Does he know many lower league players he can get on the cheap. Perhaps his best bet is the loan market for a few seasons if he lasts that long. As regards comparability, Lampard does sound like Stuart Pearce. I can't tell their accents apart.

All in the fizzog mate, can't count the number of females who had little or no interest in football or Derby County, who have indicated they will be either visiting or taking a keen interest in the New Rams manager

We are in no way as bad as Forest were when they had the embargo's etc.............. There is no evidence that we are in trouble over FFP, we may need to sell a couple of players, which could fall in line with Lampards plans anyway, but in no way would we get a transfer embargo that would tie our hand such as the one that Forest suffered. We have a responsible owner in charge, not FATWAZ.

Have you seen the target audience Rog? Not surprising really.
