Lady Thatcher dies

What's the difference between Thatcher and Jimmy Saville? Nothing, they're both dead and they both fucked miners

Stealing this, like it was a bottle of milk

I get what you are saying Jim, just I think the 'me' generation was formed and started by Maggies time.

Different perspectives I guess.

However I do also think the country has gone too politically correct, too health and safety conscience and has lost control of respect. A lot of that has been compounded massively by the Blair years, no doubt at all.

It could be argued that give or take a world war, there has always been a 'me' generation. The gap between rich and poor is nowhere near as wide now as it has been over previous centuries. The lack of respect thing happened in the 60's - notably under a labour government. Then it has happened again as noticably, recently under new labour.

There needs to be a them and us, it keeps the status quo. I'm all for having old etonians sitting round a table in a pall mall club drinking cognac and smoking fine cuban cigars in pinstripe suits keeping the country in check.
lefty liberal hippy socialists = social destruction.

Ok...

You enjoy being kept downtrodden by the elite, I'll fight the fuck out of society on your behalf comrade.

:56:

This so called woman done more damage to this country than any other PM. This was the bastard who brought in the poll tax, a lot of you on here probably don't remember it, the riots it caused, she was a bastard, and that's being polite. I will willingly row the boat out to sea and dump her so that the crabs and other sea creatures can dispose of her.

Just got back from my mates funeral , this news would have made his day !
This woman helped ruin many lives and destroyed the family as we know it .
Encouraged greed and , people to live above their means , we are now paying the penalty

Hate the witch with a vengeance!

I think you will find if you check the FACTS, the miners fucked themselves, but following Scargill and his lefties and the rest of the unions who had their darling labour wankers in their pockets for far too long.

Mines were closed down because it cost too much money to pay miners, keep the mines open when they wasn't making any or some cases enough money to remain financially viable.

For fuck sake, that's why it was fucking cheaper to import coal from Poland. Thankfully Maggie stood up to the left bastards who had drained the country for too long while Labour were in "power"... well it wasn't Labour really was it, it the fucking unions that was in power with the Labour party being their puppets!!!!!

And that is why you don't live in this country now. I bet you was one of the arse lickers who voted for the poll tax. Remember it was Thatcher who stopped the kids having school milk, it was Thatcher who squandered the oil money. If you had money under the Thatcher era she looked after you, no other word for her but bastard, bastard bastard. To even compare her to Churchill is a insult to Churchill. I'll be having a few beers tonight to celebrate the demise of the bastard.

I haven't got it in me to argue until I've had my tea, so will log on later.

If I didn't have my work laptops with me an hour ago, I would have no doubt had a ruck with two ***** who had a banner saying "rejoice she is dead". Makes me as ashamed that one of my fellow countrymen would stoop so low as it did reading about Mick Philpott.

Rip the iron lady.

Days like this are when you miss Witton on here. Hope he bumps into her on the otherside......one hell of a row that would be!

Ps. Shame on man ure tonight, shame on them. Minutes silence for anyone these days but not for the most significant Briton in my lifetime. The mind boggles.

My late Dad was the mildest of men but when Maggie came on the telly he'd become enraged and would wave his fist at her image. She was a conviction politician but I shared very few of her convictions. She certainly changed Britain but I don't think it was for the better.
But she's dead now and may she rest in peace.

You can't have a minutes silence at a football match for a politician who splits opinion like this Sir Beefy... you just can't.

My dad was/is the same BBJ. Not really got a bad word to say about anyone but not a good word for her.

The jokes should be fun then.

Fair to say not my favourite person but this **** business is a bit much, condolences to her family.

And yeah, just what we need, more Maggie to come back and make the world a better place for all to live in. Wouldnt it be great.

Seemingly the altzimers had made her forget she was ever Prime Minister, thats handy.

Good bye Margaret, your legacy is assured.

Interesting read.

Hopefully some pro will appear to balance the debate.

And lol@skeggy... noted!!!!!!!!!

Whilst i take no pleasure in seeing any fellow human passing away i have to be honest and say i am not that bothered as i learnt what a mess that woman caused this country, creating a country full of shop keepers and shipping all our skilled trades abroard,

The lack of skilled jobs available today is thanks to Thatcher, how anybody allowed her to prefer to buy in engineering products instead of making the products in this country as it was cheaper is beyond me the money raised by taxes from workers etc surely is better than buying products from foreign countries pfff

Know what you are saying Beefy but it could have been down right embarassing. She did polarise opinion - apparently!

Just copied this:::
She took us out of the deepest depression and into profit.
She helped working families buy their own homes with right to buy.
She created jobs, and many companies.
She stood up to Europe and made sure we retained our governance.
Never have so many people been lifted out of poverty.
She helped remove hooliganism
She helped remove racism.
By realigning the unions, she brought in foreign investment.
She helped bring peace in Northern Ireland
She protected the country with Trident
She helped bring down the iron curtain and communism

She gave us some pride
And she gave the country balls

Fascinating politic figure to split / polarise so much.

the modern magnolia generation won't do this, not in the same way at least. Although they have managed to get the majorities backs up with the expense fiddling, but that isn't directed at just one figure.

Never has there been such a divided opinion.

I'm indifferent of the whole situation. Not really bothered either way.
