I know Rug, when he came out and said he wanted to be transfer listed, like many I wasn't too fussed. He had been shipped out on loan to Hartlepool and not made an impression at Fratton at all.
It all sounded like he was getting a bit too big for his boots and he felt he deserved a place in the team. But when we couldn't offload him he knuckled down and was a true professional, waiting for his chance and grasping it with both hands when he got it.
What I really like about him is his passion. If he gets stick from the fans, he'll give it straight back, the whole cupping his ear thing and having good old shout at certain sections of the crowd. Some don't like it but it shows he cares, I wish more people would get fired up like this when certain sections of the crowd start to get negative.
As for tomorrow, I'm not sure about starting him up top. He's more than capable but I also think Conor should be given a chance at some point, putting Kal behind him. If Baker isn't fit I'd rather Kal played in midfield, with Bennett and Lowe either side, or Roberts in the middle with Kal and Kyle out wide. It's a tough one, but I trust Cook to pick the winning team.
