Pompey today swooped for Accrington Stanley winger Kal Naismith ...

Not a guy I know a lot about.

But two wingers right from the off is a good sign. I really enjoy playing with width & pace.

Let's see who comes in next!

At least it should keep the moaners quiet who say we don't create enough!

Was starting to wonder who you were getting at for a minute Penton. Glad it wasn't me. You'll never here me moaning about lack of creativity... Ha ha :17:

First 2 signings definitely show intent, a good sign but a long way to go - 2 full backs, a centre back, a striker and a playmaker at the least for me.

Will be interesting given his comments of an 18-man squad. He has 15 now. Surely he won't keep that 15 & only bring in 3 more??

Excited to welcome another highly rated pacy winger to the club. Doesn't leave much hope for Andy Barcham either though.
I can see at least another 5 players coming in - and Cookie let a couple go with bids if they come in.

Didn't think we would see the days of 3-year contracts for a while - Cook MUST be sure of what he can delivery as a manager and that Naismith has the ability to join us in league one and maybe even the championship in time!

Agreed Tim, although hopefully this means Captain Cook is supremely confident of the direction he'll take us and he's going too!

Naismith ready to kick on!

Kal Naismith, if I'm completely honest, was someone I had almost 'forgotten about' as being a Pompey player! Until the former Rangers and Accrington man made his debut against Exeter on Tuesday.

He, of course, wasn't alone in the senior stakes as we got a first look at Adam Barton too.

Was Naismith the first signing Paul Cook made? I have trouble remember last week these days, let alone several months ago, although I seem to recall him being one of the earlier summer signings when he came in...

Pre-season was something he played some part in but a thigh injury ahead of the kick-off had seen the winger sidelined since but he made his return in the Paint Pot, from the bench, and has since spoken to portsmouthfc.co.uk about this.

Naismith loaned to Pools

This has come, it seems, out of nowhere but Kal Naismith has left Pompey for a loan with Hartlepool until the new year.

His loan exit to our league two rivals was confirmed on portsmouthfc.co.uk this evening with this 'emergency loan' seeing him go to Victoria Park until 3rd January.

Paul Cook feels this is an ideal chance for him to work on his 'match fitness' before returning to 'show us what a player he is.'

Harsh, but probably fair in saying that weller!

I think we're paying for the fact we DON'T have a reserve side again, without this we've got too many that aren't playing, when they've been injured like Naismith they need a run of games but he was in and out of the side wasn't he, which wouldn't have helped.

Had the Hartlepool game in the background earlier and he looked 'ok' so a short spell 'should' make or break him.

If he doesn't come back in January I think it DOES signal the end...

When Naismith was loan to Hartlepool, where he seemed to do quite well, this move was designed for him to get regular 1st team football and it worked it seems.

Hartlepool wanted to extend his loan but the former Rangers and Accrington man wanted to return to the Blues and 'fight for his place.'

It'll be interesting to see if he returns to the starting XI today? Still not sure why he wasn't included against Orient last week?

Odd considering his MotM showing against Morecambe before that - Naismith will only benefit us if he's given a run of games constantly.
