Nichols' missus started following them on Instagram yesterday if the Stagsnet forum was anything to be believed. Now that Hurtado has been announced, wouldn't be surprised if Mansfield announce him shortly.

Nichols has always seemed more if a NO.10 than a striker to me. Another player we haven't got the best out of this season.

Doubt it'll happen, but guess if we've freed up money and no one else has been able to agreed terms with Posh or him, stranger things have happened in football transfers - even if it's a short deak. Would be nice for a desperation move in the transfer window/market to go our way for once, but I suspect the desperation move will be us missing out on our main target and snagging someone uninspiring on loan.
