Because neither are in our plans, got to take the chance to offload whilst we can

It's about replacing not off loading. It does not make sense to weaken already weak areas without replacing . KWP and Rose are capable FBs. I dont see KWP as a get rid. Rose said he was seeking out his contract so off loading him is either to save on wages or eject poison. It's not about keeping cover for LB which we need.

We have 4 players that can play at LB

KWP hasn’t been near the first team for months and we have a couple that can play at RB as well

It’s not really an area we don’t have numbers

Numbers but not specialists.

Jan has played there at international level
Davies is
Sess played large number on games there
Tang has done well

On the right

Serge
Foyth is the RB for Argentina
Even Toby has played there international
Tang was Mom there as well

Rose and KWP offer nothing

Dennis Cirkin will get time at LB before the season's end if nothing else changes.

.

Think we might see the 3 centre halves combo at some point as well. I'd bank on Jose deploying that tactic in Germany, just like he did against free scoring Liverpool.

Premier League clubs are expected to make changes to the summer transfer window to bring it in line with the rest of Europe.

For the past two seasons, the window in England closed the day before the top-flight campaign began.

However the deadline for most of Europe is the end of August, leading clubs to say they are at a disadvantage.

The matter will be discussed when senior officials of all 20 Premier League clubs meet on Thursday.

The transfer window was moved to the start of August in England following complaints from clubs and managers that keeping it open after the start of the season was disruptive.

It was hoped major leagues across Europe would also bring their own windows forward.

However, that did not happen and a number of clubs found themselves in the uncomfortable position of knowing their players were in demand across the continent but unable to bring in replacements for anyone they wanted to sell.

On Thursday, the clubs could decide to keep the window as it is, but this is thought to be unlikely.

If they opt for a change, it would either be to revert back to the end of August, in line with the rest of Europe, or split the window so it closes domestically before the season starts while remaining open for international deals.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has previously voiced his support for bringing the closure of the summer transfer window in line with the rest of Europe.

"I don't care when it closes, but it must close at the same time," he said in September. "They spoke about finishing it before the season starts. Good idea, but only England did it. That makes no sense. It was a good idea but it didn't work out."

In addition, the clubs will decide the date for the opening weekend of the 2020-21 season with both the finals of Euro 2020 and the Copa America on 12 July.

Following a YouGov report published on Tuesday which said 74% of fans wanted the video assistant referee (VAR) retained with some modifications, referees' chief Mike Riley will give an update on the system.

He will present the findings of research aimed at gauging opinion from a broad spectrum of fans, both those who attend matches and others who watch games on television.

Until every transfer window shuts at the same time it will never work.

The idea was the correct one just to complicated for some reason.

All clubs should have just had a policy in place of no transfers in or out when the transfer window shut.

Now the windows have been re-aligned, I hope they take the homegrown quota up by 1 or 2 to counter balance it. Late in the window is the worst time for clubs throwing money after foreign players that are no better than our homegrown. They just cost less.

Couldn't agree more it is not naffing rocket science.

And now we're back to the mess we were in before; our seasons will start on the 8th August and the window will open for nearly a month past that - so back to the mess we were in before.

The FA and even the PL are stupid and greedy; why couldn't they push back the start date?

What does anyone think of Matheus Pereira? If Lamela’s leaving (and Clark goes on loan), do we need a replacement?

Anyone remember the time before the Transfer Window . When there was a Close Season from about March to the end of the season , I think it was ten weeks but can’t be certain , but players could be bought and sold at anytime in between ,. Back in the days when a player would throw a strop if he was dropped and might demand to be put on the Transfer List . The rule was though , back then , that if you requested to go on the “ Transfer List “ you would forego your signing on fee , paid by the club you signed on for .

The days when Bill Nick would meet a player in a motorway service station , agree a deal and write it out on the back of the proverbial fag packet , and announce it to the world two days later . Ahhh !
