In Cook we trust?

Think Byrne had one of his worst games for Wigan today, never seen a performance so poor from him. As we got competition now, Sterling must be kicking the mustard off his lips.

As for fox, maybe emotion caught up to him when he got subbed off but he was fucking woeful so I sure hope his emotion was more down to himself then at other people.

Was he injured?

Very interesting to read that folk are saying "Cook shouldn't be sacked after just two games" have you forgotten October to March last season?

Straight question, who should take the blame for today? No wonder Fox threw the armband to the ground!

Stormin, I haven't forgotten October to March, rightly or wrongly he was retained during the summer. Therefore it is not right to be calling for his head after two games.

As for today - the manager got it wrong today, badly badly wrong. However the players to a man were equally as inept and the end result was a horrific performance. Dish the blame out equally.

Center back going to be a problem again Kipre as not improved at all Dunkley why drop him And if Fox is injured again thats not good enough and Blackburn dont let good players go out on loan His legs have gone

Agreed but seems Cook doesn't see it that way - it's all down to the players apparently!

Which isn't surprising because the majority were regulars in the side that faired so badly in the period mentioned. So is it no surprise that the better four from last season were not playing today nor were the bright new young talent that are apparently going to be an improvement on what we had last season. The same cock shit puke inept tactics and tinkering though.

And if he genuinely thinks that then that is very worrying because he himself did a lot wrong today.
A lot?

Most folk think that playing Jacobs (who is right footed by the way) on the right was a bad move, selecting Naismith (who many think had a comparably decent fame) is split, as is Kipre over Dunkley.

Other than that?

Subs - all fair.

Why "a lot"?

It's the game approach as much as the team selection thats the issue.
Rinse and repeat from last season = either learned nothing about playing Preston away from last years shambles or believed stubbornly that it would work out differently.
Although on players - to use a car analogy - if you had bought a shiny new expensive car (Lowe) would you be driving that first or the older version old faithful (Naismith) in order to excite and improve your driving experience albeit with a little more initial risk ?

?

Isn’t that enough?

We lacked pace. Jacobs and Naismith should not start on the wing away from home. It doesn't work. Jacobs is an attacking midfielder not a winger, which is why cutting inside from the left is better for him.

Naismith was our best player today but it was the defensive side of his game which made him the best player. For a player playing in an attacking midfield role that is not what we require. He was excellent at centre half by way and far better than Fox. His run near the end should have resulted in Evans scoring. He's more affective to the team from deeper.

Dunkley deserved to be dropped, was the only player againt Cardiff that had a shocker. I rate him but he's been low on confidence for a while now. Kipre was not the problem today.

The team was sat far too deep. Tactically wrong. Then so many stupid individual errors from the whole team.

Away from home were you are expected to counter more you need pace. Why it was all sat on the bench is stupid.

Dunkerly is another scapegoat when are some going to wake up to what a crap defender fox is, last week bogle's goal and their second today exactly the same except one was a header, fox nowhere to be seen.

Fox definitely at fault for Bogles goal but otherwise didn't put a foot wrong last week. Dunkley made multiple errors but was lucky we didn't concede. Fox made multiple errors and at fault for a goal today.

I actually liked thr Dunkley Kipre partnership it took a couple of months to settle in but was beginning to look strong then it was broken up.

Can't argue with any of that bro, when the team was announced around 2pm a pub full of tics fans were looking at their phones in disbelief, is there only Cook that can't see what a balls up that team selection was from the off? And as for the tactics....the culprit should clear his desk now, no wonder the players are at sixes and sevens and frustrated.

Nope.

Players hold most responsibility today. Too many can't look in the mirror tonight and say that they did what Norm says they should do....... Earn their pay.

Wrong! The person at the wheel should take responsibility, he didn't even try to put it right at half time, we came out bloody worse second half, as for earning pay, Cook has been pinching a living for the past 12 months.

I totally agree with this kipre dunkley need to be the starting centre backs also Robinson has got to learn fast about his defensive positioning it would be a decent shout to bring in an experienced defence coach because we are conceding to many soft avoidable goals

He did what was required of him last season.

Last week, both he and the players deserved credit.

Today, both he and the players deserve criticism.

I'm fairly sure that whatever the "tactics" were, he didn't tell them to continually pass to the opposition.
