Good Morning Thread

Yeah your right Smithy , although back then it was a few hundred yards of mud . We hadn’t been converted to Eurovisionism then ! Or was that another thread , cattletrucked if i know . Ha ha
Having lived overseas for many years now, it is strange how I always refer to an eight foot putt when playing golf, but in the next sentence talk about two hundred metres to the green. I similarly tend to mix miles and kilometres, and fahrenheit and centigrade. You never lose what you grow up with.

Yeah, and we all know it was only a 5ft putt. Like all golfers, you're exaggerating again !!

:grinning:

Remind me of when I was asked by a rastafarian fella if I wanted salt and vinegar on my chips in the thickest Glasweigian accent you could ever hear. I was used to rastas talking in West London patois. I went into a blank stare and Could not compute. He asked me three times.

I had a similar experience during my first visit to Glasgow, only it was a Pakistani or Bangladeshi waiter talking the broadest weirdest Scottish accent I had ever heard!

Like you, I just couldn't respond quickly enough and the two guys I was with, both Glaswegians sussed my dilemma in a mini second and just burst out laughing at me.

Bastards.

Good Morning from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

It's a beautiful Autumn day with a cool top temp of 28C and min temp of 20C.

Glad to see the temps dropping. Been a long hot summer.

I hope everyone is well and in positive spirits. Every day is one day closer to the end of this, and we will be back to some sort of normality soon.

When we come through this, we'll all have a far better appreciation of everything and everyone, that we subconsciously took for granted.

Our priorities will change for the better. Material things will no longer mean what they did. We'll all be closer to our loved ones, both physically and emotionally.

God bless my wonderful VS family. Have a great day!

The battery on my iPad started on the blink so I decided to send it off to have a new one fitted by a specialist repair company.....Apple wanted over £300 to do the job, this company charge £79...it is a specialist job as you can see on YouTube...no way I could do it myself...but what a rip off strategy from Apple...

So, I'm on my Microsoft Surface thingy which has the latest version of Kaspersky security software and boy is it secure...every time I switch it on I can't connect to the Internet for 10 minutes or so while it checks out every piece of software on the device....now that is security...if you can't use it you can't get infected....just another bonus to add to life...obviously the device is self-isolating.

Morning all . Bit late on parade today , too much whiskey again last night , but we put the world to rights . Got to stop that , though .
lovely day here again , sun is shining , but cold .
hope you are all well .

 My N95 respiratory filter masks arrive today so will be able to go out and shop for the first time in 10 days for essentials, feeling a bit more secure along with my diving mask...won't be a pretty sight(then again covering up means I won't frighten anyone ...ooeerrr) but do I give a flying!
