As someone who was born and raised a stones throw from Villa Park I have no problem saying the area has become a shit hole and the sooner I am away from it after a game the better. Sorry if that offends anyone. It'll take some doing to change the culture of the average Villa supporter tho' and they'll have to make the surrounding area more appealing. We'll be having

my grandparents and great grandparents were all from Aston, Victoria Road , when i look at the old pics of them at home and their house its unrecognisable now . Sad reallyAs someone who was born and raised a stones throw from Villa Park I have no problem saying the area has become a shit hole and the sooner I am away from it after a game the better. Frederick Road, only really remember Aston Park, learned to walk there apparently.my grandparents and great grandparents were all from Aston, Victoria Road , when i look at the old pics of them at home and their house its unrecognisable now . Sad really
for. One of them is a statistician & analyst, which can only mean maximising revenue through yield management like hotels & airlines do. So wait for the package growth linked to seats for prime games & other tricks to grow revenue from existing fans, tourists & corporate entertaining.
Typical Americanisation of making assets (you & me) sweat.
Remember watching the 77 FA Cup final at my great grandparents house was a lovely sunny day and we went out in the yard after and recreated the goals (or tried to)Frederick Road, only really remember Aston Park, learned to walk there apparently.
I do see it as a privilege to represent so many people much in the same way I see the union reps at work. I don’t know how many people are registered to this site active or inactive and social media too but it must be in the hundreds at least maybe even thousands? To be that person that goes and represents so many peoples views and asks questions on their behalf, airs grievances and so on is a great responsibility and even honour.
Sorry if anything I’ve said in black and white has come across as ungrateful or rude but some of these things the people at the club are doing are a proper wind up.
A little transparency wouldn't hurt and its hardly insider's secrets that will be stolen by competitors. I am unlikely to ever be in a position to have a season ticket or go to more than handful of games a year. However I am in full solidarity with every single paying fan of the past 30 years (and more). Most of us cheered when NSWE arrived & I was one of them. The vision for success sounded great but the reality I’m seeing now is not what I thought we were going to get.
UE & co are very welcome but the continuation of the corporatation, if there is such a word, of the club, is not. Heck has just announced 3 more senior staff, so more bodies to pay for. One of them is a statistician & analyst, which can only mean maximising revenue through yield management like hotels & airlines do. So wait for the package growth linked to seats for prime games & other tricks to grow revenue from existing fans, tourists & corporate entertaining.
Is this really the only way to compete with the big boys? I say Brighton to that.
Heck talks about fans at his last venture being happy to pay big bucks for the right to buy tickets. Villa membership is already a stepping stone to that. NWSE are in danger of killing the goose. Seems to me things will only get worse. Typical Americanisation of making assets (you & me) sweat.
It is the lowest hanging fruit screwing season ticket holders and general ticket prices. I also expect they are also screwing sponsors and everyone else as well. It's the way of the EPL. Will they kill the goose that laid the golden egg? No sign of it yet.A little transparency wouldn't hurt and its hardly insider's secrets that will be stolen by competitors. I am unlikely to ever be in a position to have a season ticket or go to more than handful of games a year. The vast majority of revenue this club will make will be thru TV Rights and Commercial sponsorship. I get the lure to control what you can control (things we actually set prices for) but it seems like only the German clubs have a handle on things. We're not customers, we don't support the club because of brand loyalty and we certainly don't go changing our affiliations after a tough year (or 50).
It's a bit rich to suggest 5-10% increases need to happen to compete at the top when senior leadership makes a succession of poor decisions that end in a payoff (Gerrard, and his cronies + Coutinho). We know you can't knock everything out of the park but don't give us that. Certainly don't do a Chelsea and tell us you can't afford to subsidize a bus after you fluff away 1B in 12 months.
SirDennis and Fear probably have no hope of ever being able to hammer it home to these types of people (the top 1%). Nonetheless it is the truth. The ticket sales thing is one of the biggest jokes ever. Even if you assume the rosiest of rosey outcomes is another 10m really making a big difference to Aston Villa Football Club? Or is having a better recruitment policy, new commercial sponsorship deals and improving your league position going to have a much bigger impact on the financial wellbeing of the club?
Increasing ticket prices? Its the laziest and lowest-hanging fruit available. I'd seriously suggest Heck is not doing his job if this ticket increases like this are really the solution.
Yes that's something that should be brought up , as we all get there eventually and we all take a hit giving up work , despite the current narrative that the baby boomer generation are all multi-millionaires with massive pensions and no mortgages. There is also the fact OAP concession was 50% its now a fair bit less than that.
Ruperts and Hugos, rather than Toms and DicksGentrification is a word I first used on this forum 2 years ago and it’s becoming more and more apt.

Separate specialist meetings if you like so a meeting just to discuss transport , ticketing etc. Good idea that , things get a bit lost when there are so many topics to discuss.
