MANNING (& also OGBENE - see other thread) on Rep. Ireland subs bench. The FAI have listed Manning as a defender, squad number 3. Presumably they are picking him to play at left back, if he comes on later, and not the midfield position in which he looked useful for us!

Update 1 - Sounds like another pretty poor Rep. Ireland performance against the "minnows" of Andorra. Get the Millers lads on!. Ogbene may have to hop on one leg, but that could still be an improvement on the first half.

The European Championships got underway last night. Only two ex-Millers left in the final stages of the competition : Kieffer Moore (Wales) and Marek Rodak (Slovakia). There may also be Millers/ex-Millers playing in the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament in a few weeks time

Wales v Switzerland (Group A) 1400 k.o.

Update 1 - Kieffer almost scored with a header, then suffered a cut in a clash of heads. Back on now with a bandaged head.

Update 2- After a good start by Wales, the Swiss started to dominate the game. Bale not involved much yet.

Update 3 - Kieffer Moore booked, then a few minutes later Switzerland took a deserved lead.

Update 4 - 73 mins : KIEFFER MOORE made it 1-1, with a great header, following a corner.

Update 5 - 85 mins : Switzerland "goal" ruled out by VAR (Offside)

Update 6 - Wales hanging on at the end , but managed to get a draw. Decent game to watch - quite entertaining.

Bale missed a penalty, but set up second goal for Roberts.
K. MOORE played whole game. Often in the action and took some knocks, but didn't score. No "assists" and not booked.

Wales v Denmark (EC Group of 16) 1700 k.o.
K. MOORE in Wales starting line-up.

Update 1 : Denmark on top and deservedly took the lead through Dolberg. C. Roberts went off injured, then Kieffer Moore was booked as Denmark piled on the pressure.
HT 0-1. (Wales struggling to make an impact after first few minutes).

Update 2 : Dolberg made the score 0-2 soon after the restart.

Update 3 :78 mins K. Moore substituted. Denmark's defence looking assured so far. Bale has caused the Danes few problems.

Update 4 : Maehle made it 0-3. Then Wilson was sent off for Wales.

Update 5 : 0-4. Another Denmark goal (Braithwaite) awarded after VAR offside check

Update 6 : FT 0-4. Deserved win for Denmark.

Wales were eliminated from the competition.

AJAYI is not in the Nigeria squad for their friendly game against Mexico scheduled for 4th July 2021. Looks like mainly Nigeria-based players are playing.
 
Wonder if that's something to do with Covid and it only being friendlies?

Denmark certainly did deserve the win.

TURGOTT started for Jamaica and JOZEFZOON for Suriname. Both were later substituted. Neither scored and neither was booked.

Only just realised that he has been starting in goal for Argentina in the Copa America tournament over the last few weeks, including the final which finished Argentina 1 Brazil 0. It was on the same day as the England v Italy Euorpean Championship final. He also saved three penalties in the Copa semi-final shootout v Columbia which finished 1-1 a.e.t. , 3-2 on penalties. Congratulations to him on getting a Copa America winners medal! He also won the "Golden Gloves" award for being the best keeper in the tournament.

He made his Argentina debut only a few weeks ago (03/06/21) in a World Cup Qualifier game v Chile (score 1-1)
