DW blues.

I'm not missing any point.
Why downsize when we have ambitions of getting back into the Prem again?

As for motivation... I'm sure earning thousands is motivation enough for any footballer.
Should be looking at covering bottom and side blocks - all round the ground except ES2 with a load of top quality motivational messaging.
Would cost around £150k and would be money better spent on improving atmosphere rather than on table tennis, archery and sitting volleyball for mainly non supporting locals !

Coverings don't improve atmosphere 👍

We've had 25,000 in that Stadium already.

Not very often !

What people are saying is true. We have even tried giving tickets away and still can't fill it regularly. Capacity needs to be reduced by 10k to create an atmosphere and unless we do that we will always be known as "little Wigan, the team that has no following".

I am sure the players would rather be playing in a stadium that is 3/4 full regularly than one that is 2/3rds empty every week. A stadium with a capacity of 15k would do that and condense the crowd creating a better atmosphere for both the supporters and the team.

Even if we do reach the PL in the next few years it would be better to have the stadium full every week than see the amount of empty seats around the ground. We couldn't fill it week in week out before and no doubt will not do next time.

Nine thousand Wigan fans turned up today to watch us play Burton Albion! That in itself is a positive.

I fully get the soulless jibe. We can't change the size of the ground, but we can bloody well make it less soulless and feel more like home both within the interior and exterior.

Said this for years. A relatively cheap solution to artificially reducing capacity. The new owners will recognise the need and value in doing something to improve the atmosphere.

We had average crowds of 18/19000 in the Prem with one or two around 25,000 so reach the Prem again and anything is possible. Stop being so miserable and pessimistic. Next season in the Championship we will average 16,000 with a few 19,000 or more.

Guinness or whiskey. Which last time ?? I have told you what happened in the Prem and what the future will bring 😀😀😀😀😀

Was you a fan on the last journey. From league one to the prem. every one would love it to be full This is a town. Some what like Burnley. Problem we have and always have from years ago. That loads go from Wigan Go to watch Man U and Liverpool Man city. Or Even Everton. But people from Burnley. Watch. Burnley.
Yes... but not sure why that's relevant to this discussion 🤔

They do - by condensing the crowd which concentrates noise
No they don't.
People have been whinging about the atmosphere for years, but the Stadium has already had coverings down at the front of the North, South & East Stands, and down the sides of ES1 and ES10.
And according to those people, it made no difference.

Here's a really mind blowing thought...
Maybe just maybe, people need to make more noise and stop being miserable chuffers.

Don't think it will catch on though somehow... 🥴

Following the science - a more condensed noise amplifies more than a dissapated one - would agree though that more need to join in !

The noise isn't the biggest problem it's lack of numbers ....we, the converted will clap and clamour but it's finding new converts that eludes us. Our crowd is made up of many young...we will grow in number but it will take a generation.

I still don't like the stadium though, the smell or look of it...our ancestral home has now got houses on it. Even as a cold and windy shithole it felt more like we belonged.
