With a World Cup in the middle, this will be the weirdest season of all time, but we will get through it.

Doubtless it will all be about one club.....hope their fans don't turn up without tickets .....

I hold just over 32000, It's going to be fun policing that one, they should have held it at the home of the Champions v whoever as a reward, or at least at old toilet

The traditional festive round of Premier League matches between Boxing Day and and New Year is being dropped from schedules in a move to ease player burnout after the World Cup.

Normal Dec 28 fixtures have been moved to counter concerns over the Boxing Day return to domestic duties coming just eight days after the final in Doha.

Telegraph Sport understands the Premier League will announce in its club fixture lists on Thursday that its festive calendar will now only include Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and Jan 2.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that opening and closing league fixtures about as far away from Manchester as is possible and away fixtures at Christmas and New Year are a bit of a shafting?

Hey ho. F*ck 'em. Bring it on. Let's go for that historic third consecutive league title.....

I always think if your first is away you should be at home on the last not the case

From the Athletic.

Manchester City are set to play a charity friendly against Barcelona this summer at the Camp Nou — with the match to take place after the start of the season.

The plan is for the game to take place on August 24.

It will be a charity game to raise funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) awareness. It is in honour of Juan Carlos Unzue, a former Barcelona player and assistant coach.

Unzue has a close bond with key figures at City, such as Pep Guardiola and Txiki Begiristain. The game was originally arranged to be held last summer, but COVID restrictions in Spain would not have allowed fans into the stadium.

Both clubs agreed to postpone it to this summer in order to have more of a chance to raise funds.
