Chesterfield

Having been nearing a Trust takeover for seems like months, they're finally edging closer.

Chesterfield Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council have agreed to loan the Trust £500k each. Not sure how much Allen is writing off but I suspect they might become a Wrexham and end up spending a few more years down in the NL with that set-up.

That said, perhaps they'll be less hobby clubs over the coming seasons given what's happened in the previous 3 or 4 months.

Not a lot to do with a comparatively new stadium there. If income cannot even cover the wages at a football club, you either need a wealthy benefactor or face the reality of a very uncertain future.

At EFL level: look after your costs and you look after the Club. At least we appear to be setting a decent example in this respect.

I think they will be battling relegation for a few seasons if indeed they don't go down this coming season.
