A thought that occurred to me at the time and came to mind again when watching the highlights is that, with a defender on the post we wouldn't have conceded from the free kick.
Has putting defenders on the posts fallen out of fashion?

Its a free kick not a corner = no offside

Someone told me its the one thing Bruce believes in theres some sort of 'defensive triangle' or something at corners where certain players are in certain positions and two men on the posts. I think it is something like defending the triangle from the penalty spot to the goalposts.

I've never paid attention just something I was once told about and to be fair don't think we concede from many corners.
