Around the Grounds

A blast from the past: Dover have been relegated to the Southern League.

If the Imps do go up, they will be five divisions apart next season. Anyone remember Jim Parmenter's comment about a sideways move?
Wasn't that the Braintree Chairman? Or did Parmenter say something about Raggett?

Lovely own goal by Barnsley, not sure how Cambridge had the nerve to celebrate.
Port Vale had a 17 year old kid score a great solo goal, pleased he wasn’t given his chance against us.

Lincoln Utd 1 up and Romford down to 10 after 10 mini of Vase semi-final 1st leg
I hadn't realised before, but the other semi-final was postponed because the pitch was waterlogged (Great Wakering is apparently near Southend). Worcester cricket ground is also under water, not that they would have played the football there.

It's normally news if Worcester's ground isn't under water. I'd be amazed if they have flood insurance.

Living within a mile of the Severn (as I do) we're on our 5th flood of the winter. The third of those was second only to the record level of 2007.

Most League One clubs have now filed 2022-23 accounts, and the results are pretty amazing:

Burton: - £22,894
Blackpool: - £113,592 (£7.66m in debt)
Cheltenham: - £529,659
Carlisle: - £665,007
Northampton: - £1,031,113
Cambridge: - £1,747,155
LINCOLN: - £2,636,064
Wycombe: - £2,959,667
Shrewsbury: - £3,021,754
Portsmouth: - £3,090,710
Peterborough: - £3,532,195 (£15.91m in debt)
Leyton Orient: - £3,906,083 (£14.47m in debt)
Barnsley: - £4,011,561
Bolton: - £5,460,508
Fleetwood: - £6,027,797 (£30.89m in debt)
Oxford: - £6,180,529 (£24.16m in debt)
Wigan: - £13,369,802
Derby: - £30,358,613

Bristol Rovers, Charlton, Exeter, Port Vale, and (of course) Reading yet to admit their own shortcomings.

Amazingly, Oxford and Peterborough are still prattling on about new stadia. Good luck funding that one.
