It has been a really hard winter. The frosts from a couple of weeks ago have jaded grass all over with lots of bruising to the leaf and loss of colour. Especially where it has seen footfall. There is a lot of grass cover on the pitch and it will soon bounce back with warmer temperatures.

I've no idea on historically but certainly during my time the pitch drains went towards the 3G not Sincil Drain. I'm also pretty sure the family stand was built on the inspection chamber. I would think a new inspection chamber would have been put in place with the recent pitch works.

It's standard practice to remove the pitch and re-seed. This gets rid of any organic matter and weed grasses. It keeps the surface clean.

6 weeks is the normal minimum period to establisha pitch after renovations. It may already have been done at the stadium?

That is a good decision. Should the season actually restart in one form or another you would think it would extend well into the period normally used for renovations. The close season may be very brief so would have prohibited necessary works.

This isn't a bad thing surely? It gives the best possible chance to retain the workforce whilst keeping costs to a minimum. It's certainly better than seeing a club like Spurs cutting the wages of non-playing staff

Last I can remember off was Wrexham. A fixture that was brought forward because we were both out the cup. PP due to frozen pitch but got played on original date.

There's loads of camera gantrys like the new one. I always said it should be here. Cods is similar but to get to that you climb out from the back of the stand, walk along the roof then drop down into it. Pretty bracing walk in winter.
