Well Tom Shaw has full knowledge of academy players over his period at the club, so has an advantage over others, so when all these loan players return If Shaw gets the job even to January, and both he and Cohen will have some squad to work with.
6 points from next two games will put us amongst it, and in a very good position, who knows promotion\ play-offs, anything is possible.
Come on Boys.
I’m going slightly off topic but re the likelihood of 6 points in the next 2 games, Jackson went off the pitch late on injured (granted he came back on) and O’Connor looked to be carrying a knock for some time in the second half. Fingers crossed we have enough fit players for Sat.

I’m surprised at how little talk there is around the current Notts County manager, Luke Williams. He’s completely revolutionised the way they play football, and County seem to be subscribing to a similar type of model we’re aiming for….
As much as we might wish it to be otherwise, I think most non-Imps would look upon County as a bigger club, with bigger support and bigger potential than us. Why would their manager leave to come to us, while on target for a second successive promotion and potentially coming up to League 1 next year?

On the question of whether it is better to have someone with previous Head Coach/manager experience, if we go back 60 years or so City have quite a long list of appointments who didn't fit that category.

Top of a very short list on the plus side is Graham Taylor, but set against that are the likes of George Kerr (first time), John Pickering and others on a too-long list.

Perhaps in between are the likes of Steve Thompson and David Herd.

We went through a period prior to Clive joining and trying something different where we basically went through a cycle of employing an experienced but probably tired old campaigner and followed it up with a complete rookie with very little experience only to rinse and repeat, this didn't work at all...

I am interested in the 'one or two' candidates who we potentially didn't think would be interested in the job / weren't identified as next managers by the committee that discusses manager succession over time, but have contacted us and made the list we are looking at.
I wonder if they might be Eustace or Rowett?

How about giving it to the kitman? There is a precedent that you probably remember. It didn't end well despite having everything going for it, including an Irish connection. Well not really.

Con Moulson was an Irish footballer.
His playing career ended in 1943 when took up a job at a factory in Lincoln, where he continued working after the war ended, along with taking up a part-time role as Lincoln City's kit man. When Bill Anderson retired in 1965, Moulson was the shock choice to be the club's new manager, despite not having had any day-to-day involvement in football for almost three decades. After only eight matches, which saw an unconventional 3–3–4 formation being deployed and 21 goals conceded, Moulson was relieved of his duties. Every single one of the eight matches which Moulson was in charge for ended in defeat, giving him arguably the worst record of any permanent manager in the entire history of the league.

Still, you never know. It sometimes pays to think outside the box

Lasse will cover any injuries

Anything is still possible this season of course if we get the right person, very difficult ! We all know who the 'right person ' could be who knew the Club inside out, but things have moved on over the last four years, but they will still be able to galvanise the vast majority of supporters instantly and hit the ground running. Anybody else, apart from the inexperienced Tom Shaw, will need time to bed in , get to know the Club and supporters, and would possibly rule out a challenge for the Play Offs this season. One heck of a decision to have to make !!
UTI.

time for conspiracy theories as to why the chairman liked this particular post… :)

Whoever gets the job nothing is guaranteed. Might look like a great appointment to us all but turn out less so.
You only have to look at relatively new sackings and appointments.
Weds let Moore go and the new man has made them into a very strong team , that strong that they ars bottom of the league holding all the others above them.
Moore has ending up at Huddersfield which looked a decent appointment and they were atrocious against Cardiff the other night with fans exiting the stadium as early as half time.
Eustace sacked when doing a good job at Birmingham and I am delighted to see that Rooney has really improved things! Watched just limited highlights last night of their home game against Hull. Lost 2 nil could and should have been 10. He has obviously introduced a new style of defending that involves passing around at the back that includes passing to your opponents when they are in a dangerous position!

So don't envy the board and it's great that they are paying full diligence before they make an appointment. Let's hope it all works out.
