Deal edging closer?

You really need to grow up I expected better from you
You are totally out of order however much you were annoyed

Err isn’t telling me telling me to grow up after I’ve just told you to grow up a little childish? Regardless, there was no outburst so how I am ‘totally out of order’ I’ve no idea, though quite frankly your intervention is not really necessary.

Read your outburst here
You called him an idiot delusional and you call him numb nuts
a bit put of order to me anyway

ound 21.00 you claimed it was a positive there was a hard core who voted in favour. That was the 50%. You are an idiot. Losing a large amount of fabs is NOT, I repeat NOT a positive.

You seem delusional. We struggle to attract new fans, where these mystery people I come from I’ve no idea. New income streams? We won’t own the stadium in Leigh numb nuts. We won’t even be playing in our home town. We’ll have lost a stadium, a training ground, team, an academy, future saleable assets and at least a third of the fan base and you think it’s a positive. Lord give me strength.

Oh and I’m still waiting on proof of this large donation you allegedly made that you boasted of earlier...
50% of the fans being on side with the Leigh "move" is a positive, especially with a significant amount also being undecided. It means if it happens we would likely see a majority happy with the decision.

Right, so no outburst then.

To claim losing that amount of fans is a positive thing is delusional. And is idiotic. Wouldn’t you agree? As for suggesting we can increase income streams off a ground we don’t own - well numb nuts seems apt and is hardly offensive.

As I said, your intervention to be ‘offended’ claiming it’s totally out of order is somewhat over dramatic and unnecessary given what’s been posted on here by many others in recent weeks.

I prefer to stay at the DW, I also prefer to have 20,000 in the ground, be in the prem and have Bobby as our manager, unfortunately you don’t always get what you want, we are where we are, in an unthinkable position struggling to survive as a club . We may or may not move to Leigh, we may or may not lose some of our fan base, it’s all hearsay no one knows until it happens then MIW you could say I told you so or perhaps not . At this point I don’t think we should be squabbling we need to pull together (perhaps potential buyers may read this board, hope not) keep the faith and hopefully survive this and in time come back stronger, here’s hoping anyway .

It’s not the length, it’s the time. Folk won’t jump on 40 minute bus journeys. For many socialising in the pub is a big part of the day, travelling all that way say on a bus will be too much of a burden. The club is at deaths door and given only half the fan base support it despite that means the idea won’t work. If we don’t remain the rugby club isn’t viable, so either a solution is found or both clubs die.

If the reason you are afraid to move is it might kill the club in the future but the reason for moving is to stop the club dying immediately then I think you give it a go.

An assumption it won't work doesn't mean it definitely won't work. I'd prefer to try anything rather than accept liquidation.

The fact there are any potential buyers clearly indicates non of them have read the board!

hindleymonwafc,

Sorry it's
This a old post, but some interesting statements
about the cost of running the DW Stadium, by rugger/latics fans.

IL and DW crossed swords few times about rent for the Stadium.

I think IL was shrewder than DW give him credit for.

I just hope some agreement can be reached
by Latics/Warriors and the Wigan Council to share the cost of
running the DW, as it would tragic for the Town of Wigan
of Losing the DW Stadium even with it's faults.

It's a case of United we stand, Divided we Fall.

You assume the rates would be lower. Would they?

I understand (maybe wrong) he sold he majority of his rugby shares and using that cash to buy the ground. Do effectively it wouldn’t be owned by the egg chasers.

The whole premise of my response to Walgarth re "why does Lenegan want to own the stadium" was based on his assumption (I presume) that he can
a) get the rates cheaper, and
b) charge us more (not necessarily on a per game basis, but simply because we have more home games).

I don't know if either point is true ........ it's just that I presume that would be the logic.

Re the ground purchase, not a clue, but that's the first I've heard of it.

Springy, you don't have to reference me mate on a post. Just do whatever you please, honestly.

And what you doing up at 4 AM ?

I am on morphine for chronic pain, some nights i cannot sleep due to nerve
in my stump (above the knee amputee).

Don't worry i'll NEVER mention you, or reply to my posts and vice versa.

Listen springy I said I wouldn't respond but I will...i have a strange sense of humour which isn't to everyone's taste but I wasn't singling you out cos I try to take the piss out everyone including myself. If I have offended you I apologise unreservedly as it wasn't my intention at all. There's not a lot of tics around so we shouldn't faw out between the fans we have. Let's move on eh and both discuss important stuff...like our bloody survival.

I get the premise and agree. My question was how can he get the rates cheaper? I think we’ve previously tried and failed.

I'm not sure if they can be, but as I said, I'd have thought that there'd be a good case based on it no longer being a Premier League stadium, and moreso if it were rugby owned..........with far less money in the sport (not that that should matter).

Re the stadium and the losses
The write down in the value of the stadium year on year was the primary cause of losses. It doesn't lose squillions of quid each year.
Until this commie virus is considered normal flu (like) any owner will have costs to pay out with no income.
Whoever buys it will be getting a bargain in the long term.
