Lots of fickle fans on here. But I thought everyone said the other week that they much prefer to see Wigan survive and dodge liquidation if it meant playing in another stadium?
Did you read what I wrote?he will never buy it without us that’s for sure. But still don’t get the reason to buy it from a rugby point of view. And. The money every one says it looses
does Lenagan still want the stadium and if so why
They must believe that they can make it profitable. I suspect his strategy would be based on the assumption Latics wouldn't leave and he'd have leverage to negotiate a large rent hike. On top of that he would probably be willing to stop protecting the pitch and try and rent it out as much as possible. Things like Rugby internationals and try and get one of the big clubs youth teams to play all their games there - totally hammering the it in the process. We currently can't do that as we want a good playing surface for our games but Warriors don't need a quality pitch themselves and would have to sacrifice that to raise money by the looks of it.
I think even then making up the 1m shortfall is a big ask. But they clearly must have a strategy to make it work that no one else can work out. The rates probably factor into that.
I may be in your opinion, but I do not value it. My outlook on life and decisions made allowed me to blindly donate a large amount into a campaign to save the club without a second thought. From the way you've talked about a lot of issues it shows that you are unlikely someone who has had their own company, been involved in organisation/process management of a company or any sort of strategic planning. You'll notice how I said "unlikely" that use of language allows you to come back to me and say you have, without my statement being incorrect, it shows that you are able to understand the world is never black or white. Its not something you do (hence my opinion)!
You think the problem with the club is not having enough support and that more supports will solve our issues. That's two or three levels above the actual problem and I'll demonstrate for you.
Why do we need fans? 1) Support the players during matches 2) Generate income <insert other reasons>
1a) Can we do this in another way?
1b) Is there a way for a lower amount of fans to generate the same level of support inside the venue?
1bi) Is the venue the problem?
etc.
2a) How much income do we generate from fans alone?
2ai) What is the cost of acquisition of a fan?
2aii) What is return on investment of 2ai?
2b) Do we have other ways to generate income?
etc.
You are seeing everything as a problem and leading to the death of the club, the people buying us may not see the world the same way as you do and therefore see opportunities. The worry we have to have as fans should extend to such questions as: If they move us to Leigh and it goes ok could they move us further away (these are people who have experience with American Franchises).
I believe your main problem is getting your point across and doing so without belittling others, because you dont know how and you feel that's the best way to do it. You're unlikely influence the right kind of people doing that and therefore your success will likely be limited.
Big clubs youth teams? United use Leigh. City have their own.
If the rugby can make it pay and we can’t forget the rates. Somthing. Sadly wrongDid you read what I wrote?
He'll be hoping to get the rates reduced .................. this will make it more affordable. That's why ....and how.
I do agree though that if we're not a tenant, it'll make it a damn sight harder for him ........................... hence the Americans saying that we'll go to Leigh. Maybe he'll offer to reduce the rent he'd charge us if he were to buy it.
They already tried that and it didn't work though - if it was as easy as saying it it would've happened. No matter how much you try you're not going to get many concerts in Wigan with so many other established venues in the north west and most big bands will do cities rather than towns. You cant have the pitch used due to the level of maintenance required and no matter how hard anyone works they are going to struggle to have enough weddings, conferences, etc to add up to 1m. I don't think the council would sign up for anything that generates annual loses of hundreds of thousands. So I don't think that it is a realistic outcome.
It's only Leigh, the majority of fans who can't hack that length of travel to keep the club alive probably would've dumped us for getting relegated as it is. Some folks will probably have slightly shorter journeys, some will have slightly longer and match day routines will adjust but if you don't have a match the rest is irrelevant. I say let's make sure we have a team and matches to watch as the priority. We can always move back to the DW in the future if the terms are right- but you won't get good terms if you refuse to ever leave. Can't afford to keep losing 1m a year under any circumstances.
Well it’s abundantly clear from the above condescending nonsense you are indeed incapable of communicating effectively and getting your point across. There is no likely from my perspective here, you are a limited individual. Boasting about ‘blindly donating a large sum without a second thought’ tells me you are craving attention and believe such an unverifiable claim gives your nonsensical opinions validity. They don’t. Unfortunately for you, you are not as clever as you think. As I said earlier you are an idiot, which you have again proven.

Great reply! Basically what you are saying is "I don't understand what or why you are saying or why you are saying it, so you must be the idiot". You made a suggestion / questioned my understanding, I provided you with a retort and it was above your level. Move on, don't learn and stay stuck with the life you have today (that may be fantastic, if so we'll done!).
Its not boasting it's factual, happy to provide proof to the forum organisers.
That’s a bit insulting. To a fan You could well be rich business man. And maybe clever that a few on here but think made in Wigan as made a good point about our fans. I’ve watched wigan for over 50 years. And Leigh. Sorry. To say not for me. And just text 6 mates all say the sameGreat reply! Sorry John, but you really ought to check your commas. I presume there should have been one after "can't".
As has already been said, the rateable value was set when we (a football club) were in the Premier League.
We're no longer in that league, but the rates haven't changed (apparently.
If the rugby were to won it, in a sport where there's far less money about, then the rateable value might (eventually) get reviewed.
This would be a significant way toward making the stadium cheaper to run.
What's "sadly wrong" about that?

You have your thoughts I have mine. Give the stadium up we are knackeredSorry John, but you really ought to check your commas. I presume there should have been one after "can't".

The reason you are wrong is because you've discounted the unsures. If it suited your narrative you'd use them the other way, very basic manipulation strategy.Yep go ahead provide the proof. The forum organiser is a villa fan so wont be interested, so just post it on here. Or just PM me. Either will do.
Your post, as I said, was nonsensical, so yes it confirmed, like your suggestion only 50% of a small fan base willing to move was a positive, you are in fact an idiot.
