Aston Villa confirmed yesterday that they would be appealing the straight red card shown to Henri Lansbury in the midweek clash against Middlesbrough.

Lol.

Hopefully the FA will increase the suspension for a frivolous appeal, and for the fact the Lansbury is a total show pony. With bad hair.

:5:

Surely the only purpose of this is the admission that the Ref got it wrong on the night.

Not that we need Lansbury back for the 3 games he'd miss.

Never a red but when you have referee's who are completely incompetent , you can never take a chance .

Can't say we will desperately miss him though.

Never ever a sending off, not in a million years. Awful decision from a truly shocking referee.

Agree, never a red. It wasn't dangerous and it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity,

Letter of the law it was a yellow and I reckon the appeal will be successful.

The ref was awful throughout, he was waiting for a chance to even things out, Lansbury was a bit thick giving him that chance.

Good grief, common sense in football?!?!

Well well well. We can say the ref cost us the game then as with 11 v 10 for 90 mins we would have thrashed them !!!!

Hopefully Bruce won't play him at the weekend for his sheer stupidity in making the tackle in the first place. Was never a red, but a totally idiotic challenge to make - everyone could see how abysmal the referee was.
