Wimbledon Reaction Will Tell Pompey A lot
Defeat was always going to happen at some point – this coming at Fratton Park against Gillingham last weekend wouldn’t have been anticipated.
However, that’s what happened.
Fortunately that 2-0 setback didn’t prove too costly as results of others behind us went our way, so we still hold a decent lead at the top of League One.
A reaction is most definitely wanted, if not expected, at Wimbledon on Saturday though.
It wasn’t a majorly important game, as such, but Tuesday’s win at Crawley in the Checkatrade Trophy, albeit with a different side that faced Gillingham, a different one to the selected one at Wimbledon too, did see a response to a degree.
Wimbledon, who are not having the greatest of seasons so far, do have home advantage but the Dons are a side many would anticipate Pompey can, if not will, overcome. I’ll, of course, not take a win for granted but there’s no denying the fact I wouldn’t be happy if the Blues returned from London without anything at all.
How we reacted to our first league loss would tell us a lot about just how well this season would go... Having suffered that defeat we’ll have our answer by 5pm on Saturday.
